Michelle Waterson

Introduction, Background and UFC Career

Michelle Waterson was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and is half Caucasian and half Thai. She spent the first two years of her life in Germany before moving back to the States and settling in Aurora, Colorado. Now she lives and train in New Mexico.

Waterson has many memories with her older brother and younger sister. It was his brother who got her into martial arts. She earned a black belt in American Free Style Karate when she was 10 years old and has also trained in Wushu, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing and wrestling.

Nicknamed "The Karate Hottie," she started modeling in 2004 after graduating high school. Waterson did a bikini contest at a car show and traveled all around the United States as a spokesmodel of International Allstars.

She won her first professional fight via unanimous decision against Andrea Miller at ROF 28 - Evolution on February 16th, 2007. Waterson is a former Invicta FC atomweight champion and has wins against Paige VanZant, Cortney Casey, Felice Herrig and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

"The Karate Hottie" is coming off back-to-back decision losses against Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Carla Esparza. It was a controversial win by Esparza because of weird scoring.

Prediction

Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill are eager to bounce back, which will give us a can't-miss fight. “I think what it comes down to is I’m excited to go out there and fight,” Waterson told MMA Junkie. “I’m kinda done with trying to strategize and this and that. I’m excited to fight. I’m excited to punch her in the face, put some damage on her.”

I like Waterson's mindset and this is precisely why I like her to beat the UFC odds. She wants to think less and fight more, not worrying about the outcome. Waterson has more all-around ability and if she does not hold back she can get back on track. Hill has been inside the octagon more often than Waterson over the last year but "The Karate Hottie" has more paths to victory.
