UFC Fight 254 Parlay Picks: The Weekly Punching Parlay

UFC steps into Fight Island for the last time this year, and it’s a special one with UFC 254, and of course, we have another parlay to feast on. The odds are now available for us to delve into some parlay betting picks for UFC 254: headlined by Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje, live this Saturday on ESPN.

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje

UFC Lightweight Championship Bout

Saturday, 24th October live from the Flash Forum

The Fight

"Oh boy", "Wow", "Holy Sh*t"; just a handful of terms to describe this weekend's up-coming UFC pay-per-view, as the highly anticipated lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje is upon us.

Khabib Nurmagomedov - the 28-0 undefeated Dagestani UFC lightweight champion. A career defined on elite grappling offence; it is almost impossible to underestimate the champ. Why do you ask? He has not given us a single reason to doubt his abilities, not only has he victorious in all his career MMA fights, but he has barely lost a-round.

And I quote: "I will take Justin into the deepest ocean and drown him."

If you look up the word 'toughness' in the dictionary and this dictionary so happens to have images attached, there is a good chance a picture of Justin Gaethje will be used.

Through Gaethje's twenty-four professional mixed martial arts journey, he has managed to knockout nineteen of those opponents. A God-given ability to knock out other men is not the worst trait for a UFC athlete, and he will be head-hunting for the 20th this weekend.

UFC Parlay Pick

When you have been adding Khabib to your parlays for the previous eight years, why stop now? I'm sure some of the bets I speak off had lost due to other additions, but if you're looking for a solid, Khabib is your man.

I understand the intrigue towards this matchup; I get it, I do. But let us have a reality check for those seemingly over-faithful in Gaethje's chances this weekend. Whenever he's faced a younger, faster more durable fighter in the UFC he has ended up on the other end of a knockout. Besides, Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier have both taken Justin's path and failed. Khabib made Poirier look like an amateur while Alvarez was starched by McGregor to put an end to their title respective title reigns. Alvarez capitalised on Gaethje's durability, and so did Poirier.

Gaethje pacing himself for five rounds is not going to work out, he will need to bring aggression in the octagon this weekend and with aggression versus Khabib's draining offence equals a tired Justin. I predict Khabib will TKO or submit Justin Gaethje before the twenty-fifth-minute bell dings.

The available UFC odds with most top rated sportsbooks are quite mixed on this matchup so be sure to shop for the best line.

Magomed Ankalaev vs. Ion Cutelaba

UFC Light Heavyweight Bout

Saturday, 24th October live from the Flash Forum

The Fight

After a drama-filled contest between these two men earlier this year, we are now gifted with a rematch by popular demand. An early stoppage by the referee during their first contest has given the UFC no other option but to book the rematch, and who is complaining?

Ion Cutelaba is not the most technical striker in the business, but boy does he bring it each and every time. Leaving it all in the octagon, I do not doubt that Ion's game plan will not stray too far from the original fight – kill or be killed.

Magomed Ankalaev, on the other hand, offers a highly technical offence, stemming from a background in freestyle and sambo wrestling, he's not just an elite grappler but provides a striking offence that was doing damage during the first fight between these two fighters.

UFC Fight Prediction

Of course, it can be argued the first fight was an early stoppage, but we cannot deny the fact Ankalaev was clearly dominating the significant strike counter – in fact, I am not even sure Ion landed a single strike? Either way, I expect a similar outcome with a longer time frame.

Ion will leave it all in the octagon as he usually does while Ankalaev will methodically select his strikes to an eventual knockout or takedown scenario. And if Ankalaev does take the fight to the ground, then I do not expect Ion to survive.

Da Un Jung vs. Sam Alvey

UFC Light Heavyweight Bout

Saturday, 24th October live from the Flash Forum

The Fight

Korean prospect Da Un Jung has lived up to the hype so far, taking his first two UFC bouts by submission and technical knockout. A sleek, speedy striking offence for the UFC light heavyweight division is the last thing Sam Alvey needs in front of him, riding a four-fight losing streak it could be a swansong for 'Smiling Sam' in Abu Dhabi.

In my humble opinion, Jung is taking a step down in competition, and Sam Alvey has been hit in the head too much. A controversial loss for Sam is on the cards and watching Jung handle a muscular, athletic Mike Rodriguez in the first round so viciously, gives me high confidence in him this weekend.
