Henry Cejudo vs Marlon Moraes

Free UFC Pick: Henry Cejudo

Recommended Sportsbook: 5Dimes +115

Henry Cejudo is the King of Cringe and he has stunned the MMA community by dethroning the only champion the 125 pound division has ever had. When you take an Olympic gold medalist and give them one of the top camps with forward thinking and innovative training there is no telling what height he can achieve. Cejudo has already achieved what the MMA world thought impossible and we are still trying to figure out just how far he can go.

If it’s possible Henry looks even better than he did in his super fight against former 135 pound champ TJ Dillashaw as he prepares to move up a weight class and claim a second belt and a 3rd piece of gold. Henry has a very obvious wrestling advantage in this fight and he is very likely going to be the faster of the two fighters and therein lies the key to victory. Moraes has only faced one fighter faster than him in his UFC career and that was the speed demon John Dodson.

Dodson landed on Moraes regularly and because he was a grappling threat and so hard to hit, Marlon was unable to land the kill shots that he is so well known for. I expect that Henry will have a similar game plan and really rely on his speed to get the upper hand on Marlon. Cejudo’s improved striking makes him a significant threat on the feet and even though Moraes is a legit black belt with an offensive submission game, you do not want to be under an explosive wrestler and power striker like Cejudo. Marlon is all fast twitch muscle and explosive power and, once he slows down in round 2, I expect Cejudo to really turn up the pace and get the finish.

The play is Cejudo to continue to defy the odds and add another MMA legend to his list of victims and another belt to his collection. Cejudo can be had at the slight dog line of +115 and if you are feeling like a gamble you can take Cejudo by TKO at +485. I do not see this fight making it a full 5 rounds.
