UFC Hot Prospect: Mo Miller (5-0)

Our hot prospect of the week has been tearing through the LFA MMA promotion and is a Cleveland, Ohio native fighting out of Strong Style Fight Team gym.

Diehard MMA enthusiasts may be familiar with Mo Miller's teammate, none other than former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

Standing in at 5 ft 8, 136lbs, 29-year-old Mo Miller isn't on the smaller sized end of the bantamweight division. His All-American wrestling background has assisted him with an undefeated record and four-fight stoppages.

Hailing from a dominant wrestling state like Ohio, it's no surprise that Miller's exposure to MMA was inevitable.

During his first year, the All-American made a huge impact within the Division 2 level, placing fourth at the NCAAs and claiming victory at the Division 1 Michigan State Open tournament. Despite never earning a national title. Following a successful senior year, taking third place that year, an MMA career was just around the corner.

After a 2-0 amateur MMA stint, Miller joined the Strong Style team made famous by Stipe Miocic's success. Outside of elite training partners, the gym owns some of the highest quality boxing instructors globally, led by Joe Delguyd and Alex Cooper.

A 6-0 amateur record transitioned nicely into a professional level of competition as Miller's undefeated streak continued. Having started his professional MMA career just two years ago, Miller is already 6-0, with five of those bouts ending via TKO or submission.

DWCS Week 3: Mo Miller Fighter Analysis

As you can imagine, Miller's most notable attribute surrounds his high-level wrestling skillset. Brute strength and lightning-fast speed accompany his style, and unlike most wrestling heavy fights in the UFC, Miller utilizes upper body wrestling. You'll notice many wrestlers attempt single and double leg takedowns, but when those methods fail, they steer away from that wrestling game plan.

In contrast, Miller enjoys upper body positions like underhooks, bear hugs, front headlocks and can use these approaches to ground a fight.

Miller has overcome adversity when competing against dangerous Jiu-Jitsu practitioners who've threatened him with guillotines and submission holds. Still, none of them was able to prevent his potent wrestling techniques.

One of Miller's signature moves is the back body lock, where he can effortlessly lift and slam the opposition to the mat. Sheer strength induced gravity left his most recent challenger unconscious from this suplex slam.

DWCS Hot Prospect Betting Pick

Mo Miller will put his undefeated streak on the line versus another unbeaten LFA prospect in Brandon Lewis.

Lewis has proven to possess a fearless finishing style, but training out of Robison Mura BJJ and Defwar will not provide him with the wrestling defense required to fend off Lewis.
