World Cup qualifying resumes across the world this week, with some vital group games in North America and South America. Check out our World Cup qualifier betting picks.

Canada and the U.S. men's national team are among the CONCACAF heavyweights that will bid to advance their World Cup qualification bids this week. They are first and second, respectively, in the table and they are both surging with momentum right now. Uruguay will bid to reignite their qualification campaign in South America when they take on Paraguay, while Brazil are also in action.

Here are my top betting picks and predictions for this week's World Cup qualifiers (odds via Unibet; pick confidence based on 1-to-5-star scale).

World Cup Qualifiers Predictions

USA to beat El Salvador & Under 3.5 goals (-130)

The USMNT have made a habit of grinding out low-scoring wins over the past year. They rattled off four consecutive 1-0 victories to clinch the CONCACAF Gold Cup last summer.

They have gone on to play eight World Cup qualifiers, with four wins, three draws, and one defeat. Just one of those games saw over 3.5 goals - a 4-1 win over a depleted Honduras team.

The USA drew 0-0 with El Salvador on the road at the start of qualifying in September and we could be in for another tight clash this week.

La Selecta have only scored four times in eight qualifiers, but they have a solid defense, with just 1.25 goals conceded per game. This looks like precisely the sort of game in which Gregg Berhalter's men will eke out a low-scoring win.

Canada to beat Honduras (+110)

Canada have stormed to the top of the CONCACAF table after securing four wins and four draws from their opening eight games.

They are poised to qualify for their first World Cup since 1986, but they cannot afford to take a foot off the pedal now.

Key player Alphonso Davies, the Bayern Munich full-back, is out with a heart condition, but Canada still has a strong squad featuring the likes of Jonathan David, Cyle Larin, Tajon Buchanan, and Jonathan Osorio.

It should be enough to get the better of Honduras, who are bottom of the table, with zero wins, three draws, and five defeats. These teams drew 1-1 at the start of qualifying, but Canada have been on an upward curve since then, while Honduras are on a five-game losing streak.

Uruguay draw no bet vs. Paraguay (-150)

Uruguay are unbeaten against Paraguay since 2007. The teams have met nine times since then, with five wins for Uruguay and four draws.

They played one another twice last year, resulting in a 0-0 draw and a 1-0 win for the Uruguayans.

This is a must-win game for Uruguay as they bid to catch the teams above them in the qualifying table. They have called up superstar strikers Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, so they should have far too much firepower for Paraguay to handle.

Paraguay are second from bottom in the group, with the joint worst attacking record, and they are unlikely to have much joy against a technically superior Uruguay team.
