England look to secure their place in the World Cup's Round of 16, while Wales hope to keep their dreams of advancing alive. Here are our Wales-England picks.

Qualification to the last 16 is possible for both teams. Only a 4-0 defeat would knock England out of the tournament, and Wales need to win and hope Iran-USA ends in a draw.

England have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions (D4 L3), their fewest across an eight-game span since a run between October 2001 and June 2002. Wales (D2 L5) are on a run of seven games without a victory in all competitions for the first time since May 2003-November 2003 (D2 L5).

With so much Premier League talent on show, who will triumph in this battle between Britain’s two representatives at Qatar 2022?

Here are our picks for the World Cup match between Wales and England on Tuesday (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Wales vs. England ATS Pick

England -1.5 (+125) ★★★★

Wales have to come out attacking and that’s going to favor England. This match could have the makings of a classic Premier League back and forth. The Welsh have nothing to lose, they need goals, and that’s going to open them up at the back.

Wales faced 21 shots in their 2-0 defeat against Iran, the third time in their last eight games that they’ve faced 20-plus shots, which was as many as in their previous 62 games combined. The last time they faced England at a major tournament, the Three Lions had exactly 20 shots in a 2-1 win at Euro 2016. England have won each of their last six games against Wales, scoring 11 goals in that run and conceding only one, a Gareth Bale free-kick at Euro 2016.

England have a balanced attack that will overmatch the Welsh defensive three. Wales will also be without their first-choice goalkeeper, Wayne Hennessey, due to suspension. They’ll go down fighting, but England’s dominance will show in this end-to-end game.

You do need to look for this handicap. DraftKings have England as -1.5 favorites at +125. DraftKings are offering multiples lines, +125 for this spread is the best value I’ve seen.

Wales vs. England O/U Pick

Over 2.5 goals (-116) ★★★★

There must be goals in the match for either team to achieve their targets. Wales know they have to win. Victory for England will guarantee them top spot in Group B. The Three Lions had their first clean sheet in five games after Friday’s goalless draw against USA.

England will be set up to withstand Welsh pressure and will attack them on the counter with pace and flare. Led by Harry Kane, supported by Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount, and Co., the list of offensive weapons is endless for Gareth Southgate. Wales have Bale, one of the most decorated players in world football, who can punish England at any moment.

The total is popular with most sportsbooks, and it looks like bettors are favoring the Over because the price is as low as -120 with many books. It’s as low as -130 at Caesars, the highest odds I’ve found are -116 at FanDuel.

Wales vs. England Prop Pick

Bale anytime scorer (+320) ★★★★

Among the Welsh players to complete 90 minutes in their two games against USA and Iran, Bale has had the fewest touches in both matches (34 vs. USA, 36 vs. Iran), managing just two shots across the two, one of which was his penalty goal against the USA. His lack of touches might be why the price is so high.

Bale is Wales’ main man. So much of their success goes through him. He leads the team by example and has stepped up on the biggest stage throughout his career for club and country. He’s their free-kick and penalty taker, which increases his chances of finding the net.

This could be his one and only World Cup, and he’ll want to leave his mark for the Dragons. If Wales go down fighting, he’ll be at the center of their success.
