Chelsea is in a mess. Winless in four Premier League games, it’s a club that sits 10th in the table and is closer to the relegation places than to leaders Arsenal. Spurs have won two in a row at home without conceding a goal. Can the Blues turn the tide in this London derby? Read on for our picks and predictions.

Graham Potter’s side face a tough test on Sunday, and their toughest challenge will be finding the net. Since the start of November, Chelsea have scored the fewest goals in the competition (six in 11 games). They’re on the road to fierce local rivals, who are targeting a top four finish and boast the likes of Harry Kane, Richarlison, and Heung-Min Son in attack.

Tottenham will open up a four-point gap between themselves and Newcastle with a win. The Toon Army will be playing in the EFL Cup final on Sunday, so they won’t be in Premier League action. Although Newcastle will have two games in hand, Spurs will want the points on the board to put pressure on their rivals in the race for Champions League qualification. 

Chelsea’s form is a concern. They’ve only scored multiple goals in a match once in their last 14 league games. Harry Kane’s 17 Premier League goals this season are just six fewer than the Blues have scored collectively. If Tottenham score first, it could be very difficult for Chelsea to find a way back. Only Manchester City and Arsenal have scored more goals than Spurs (44) in the competition in the current campaign. 

Since the World Cup break, Chelsea have only scored five Premier League goals. They’re a club in crisis with no sign of being able to turn things around. This is a good opportunity for Tottenham as they host their city rivals. Spurs have beaten Manchester City during their recent winning run at home. Expect them to take all three points on Sunday.

Spurs are only slight favorites over Chelsea in this match, which is surprising considering the form both teams are in. Tottenham did lose 4-1 to Leicester recently, which is an inconsistency that may detract some bettors. The Blues are struggling, their head coach is walking a tightrope, and their new acquisitions aren’t adapting.

I’ve put four stars on this play because of Chelsea’s ineptitude in front of goal, plus Tottenham’s recent form of shutting teams out at home. If you don’t score, you don’t win.
