It's a Derby della Mole like Serie A haven't seen in half a century: Torino-Juventus comes with brand new competitiveness. The Derby streak continues in Serie A and after the Capitale's it's time for the Mole's in Turin, in a situation that didn't happen in the last 50 years - a good one for Torino, a bad one for Juventus.

Meanwhile, the Atalanta-Milan fixture will test hard the Rossoneri's ability to endure hard fixtures week in week out having played Champions League on Tuesday. Let's take a look at some Serie A odds for this weekend.

Torino vs. Juventus

Saturday, October 02, 2021 - 12:00 PM EDT at Stadio Grande Torino

It's 50 years since the last time Torino entered a derby with the same or above position as Juventus. This is obviously due to the horrific Juve start, but considering that the Bianconeri won the last two fixtures, it has to do also with Torino's renewed reliability.

The squad has slightly worsened year by year, but now finally they hired a manager able to produce sexy football, and after quite some time it has become again worthy to tune on their games.

Juventus just did a defensive masterclass performance turning off Chelsea: beating the European champions is possibly something nobody expected looking at how average their football has been so far, but never underestimate the pride of the football champions, and Juve is particularly stuffed with them, not forgetting the fresh Euro2020 champions.

The issue now is when they are called to come out of their half and play a football that is different from catenaccio and counterattack. Unless Allegri turns super cynical and decides to be as defensive as possible, then Juve will have issues in open-play football.

And Torino hasn't bowed to anyone so far when it's been about being proactive. This, in spite of suffering heavy injuries, first of all, Belotti. The odds on a double chance on Torino are very high, and obviously, the fatigue from the game against Chelsea should be factored in as well.

Atalanta vs. Milan

Sunday, October 03, 2021 - 02:45 PM EDT at Gewiss Stadium

It will be tough for both of them. Champions' fixtures are heavy to cope with, and it's true that Atalanta had one day less to rest, but their rival was Young Boys not Atletico.

Although the swiss gave them a lot to sweat on, in a very demanding game on a tactical level, so don't expect them to be so fresh. Milan came out with frustration from the last gasp defeat, and also adding more injuries.

All in all, while Milan is dynamic so far, Atalanta instead is finding it a lot more difficult to express the same fresh football they did, and so far they seemed to rely more on the experience they have piled up in the last three years, trying to deal with injuries and mental stress.

Moreover, they are gonna miss Gosens for the next month, and which simply was one of the best fullbacks in Europe. Hard to expect a paced start, they will be very careful not to concede at the beginning.Serie A Pick:

Roma vs. Empoli

Sunday, October 03, 2021 - 12:00 PM EDT at Stadio Olimpico

The defeat in Derby has been salt on wounds for Roma. Mourinho was expected to bring something special but there wasn't any in such a special game, even though Mou's antics against the ref helped to divert attention from the poor performance.

Anyway, the sense of revenge is left there, and poor Empoli should pay for that, even though they have been surprising so far with their nine points collected. Look for Roma to cover the -1 handicap as the last Serie A pick for this weekend.
