It couldn’t be more shining the resuming of Serie A scheduling. Napoli vs. Juventus and AC Milan vs. Lazio are big enough to take over the attention any time of the year, even more, when you wait for 2 weeks for league football to be back, and when you pair them in the same matchday.
Napoli vs. Juventus
Saturday, September 11, 2021 – 12:00 PM EDT at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona
It couldn't come in weirdest conditions a game that has been so sensitive in last years and that anyway is one of most felt rivalries. Napoli are up with the other big 4 that won 2 out of 2 but dealing as everybody else with the issues of having their South American players released only 38 hours before kick-off and traveling overseas to reach Italy. The situation for Napoli is made way worse by the fact the starting keeper Meret got injured with Italy and will be out for a month, and backup Ospina too got a serious knock at the foot with the Colombian national team.
Probably the latter will be forced to play anyway, but Napoli are seriously considering the option to play third keeper Marfella, which fans barely know and that just arrived to the club from playing in the 4th division. Spalletti though had the good news to see his starting striker Osimehn's 2 match ban being shortened just in time to play, and this is crucial. Napoli though are missing balance so far, and there is the risk to be exposed to a Juventus counterattack.
The Bianconeri only picked up 1 point in 2 games, and most of all against minnows like Udinese and Empoli: too fragile, too shaky at the back, too uncertain in what being now without Cristiano Ronaldo, whose fantastic scoring average has for 3 years covered how horribly Juve played. Allegri though is well aware of these problems and understands that at this moment playing openly against Napoli is a huge risk Juventus can't bear, having instead the perfect players for quick smart transitions.
Also, Juve too will have to deal with the overseas delay of many South American key players. Safe to say that Allegri won't leave space to risk, at least at the beginning, a tactical exercise in which actually he is a proper master.
AC Milan vs. Lazio
Sunday, September 12, 2021 - 12:00 PM EDT at San Siro
Surprisingly Lazio are up as joint leaders. Out of the 5 'cousins' leading the Serie A pack, Lazio are certainly the ones with fewer options in the squad. But Sarriball seems already on, and it will be a very entertaining game against a Milan that started with the same paced style they had in the first half of their past season. Sarri won't be shy to concede goals, at the price of scoring one more.

Atalanta vs. Fiorentina
Saturday, September 11, 2021 - 02:45 PM EDT at Gewiss Stadium
Everybody knows Atalanta, but few abroad Italy know that Fiorentina from this summer is trying to pursuing the same style, by hiring coach Italiano, former at Spezia. Their football is already clicking on: lost 3-1 at Roma but played 50 minutes with 10 men not being shy to attack, won 2-1 with Torino leaving a good impression. Atalanta will have Champions League next week and have both Muriel and Zapata dealing with injuries.
