Napoli’s lead at the top of the table was cut to just a single point after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Sassuolo on Wednesday. Title rivals AC Milan and Inter both recorded routine victories, while Atalanta extended their Serie A winning streak to four games, so things are heating up at the top of the table. At the other end, the situation is looking increasingly bleak for the likes of Salernitana and Genoa.

Serie A Matchday 16 Predictions

AC Milan -1.75 (-120)

AC Milan returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Genoa on Wednesday. Zlatan Ibrahimovi? handed the Rossoneri an early lead, and Junior Messias scored on either side of the break to wrap up the win.

It left Milan just one point behind Napoli at the top of the table, and they now have a golden opportunity to build up momentum by beating Salernitana.

Former manager Fabrizio Castori’s men look hopelessly out of their depth in Serie A. They finished second in Serie B last season, but they did not invest much in bolstering the squad after securing promotion.

Salernitana currently sits bottom of the table, with 11 defeats through 15 games thus far. They have the worst attacking record in the league and they concede more than two goals per game, so this should be a comfortable game for Milan.

Inter (-105)

Inter are now two points behind Napoli after rattling off three consecutive wins over the past fortnight.

They are now the clear favorites to win the Scudetto for the second year in a row. Inter are the top scorers in Serie A, and the likes of Lautaro Martínez and Edin Džeko could cause all sorts of problems for Roma in this game.

Roma suffered a 1-0 away defeat to Bologna on Wednesday. It left them fifth in the table and 11 points behind Inter. They have a strong home record, but they will be missing Tammy Abraham, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Stephan El Shaarawy, and Felix Afena-Gyan for this game.

Inter have two wins and six draws from their last eight meetings with Roma. You can still get plus-money odds on Inter winning this game with some sportsbooks, and you could hedge with a smaller stake on the draw to cover you if you are feeling cautious.

Juventus -1.5 (-125)

The last three meetings between these teams resulted in 3-1 wins for Juventus, and they should be able to cover a 1.5-goal handicap once again this weekend. 

The Bianconeri are up to seventh in the standings after winning three of their last four games, including a 2-0 victory over Salernitana on Tuesday.

It has been a poor season thus far for manager Max Allegri’s team, but they still have enough attacking quality to sweep aside the smaller teams in the league. Genoa are 18th in the table, with just one win across 15 games this season. They are missing captain Domenico Criscito and top scorer Mattia Destro through injury.
