Premier League is back with an exciting weekend that couldn’t get juicier. The Merseyside Derby means more now than ever, or at least more than in the last 35 years. Then we have Manchester City vs. Arsenal, an unusual clash between the 2 sides, with the Gunners not only being above the Citizens on the table but even challenging them on their same tactical ground.
It would be enough for us, but Leeds are a dope we can’t live without already, and their game vs. Wolves is particularly impregnated with different angles, from the different philosophies that have built the reality of two outsiders, till the mere tactical battle of Bielsa against the fresh approach of Nuno Espírito Santo.
Everton vs. Liverpool
Saturday, October 17, 2020 – 07:30 AM EDT at Goodison Park
35 years since the last time that Everton entered a derby having title ambitions. Ok, it’s a bit early to think that the Toffees will last, but they are a tough squad and they will definitely put up a fight at least for the European spots.
Ancelotti has put all the things in order, the right men in the right positions, the confidence that some players never showed, and the big fat cherry on the cake with James Rodriguez on top, totally revived by his mentor. He's enjoying a great start to the Premier League season, and that is boosting the level of his teammates. Liverpool have been shocked by the 7-2 in Birmingham, but Jurgen Klopp not even had the time to restore the pride as basically all the players were away on international duties.
Something pretty different from what Carlo Ancelotti had to deal with, considering that the large majority of his squad could continue to work in town. Maybe I’m being too hopeful in Carletto, but this intense derby is an unmissable chance for Everton, and not losing will be more important than ever.

Manchester City vs. Arsenal
Saturday, October 17, 2020 - 12:30 PM EDT at Etihad Stadium
The Citizens have not been impressive so far, with so many issues to resolve all-around, and depending too much on Kevin De Bruyne, whose level is miles above the others. On the contrary, it was a long time since Arsenal weren’t so convincing from the beginning of the season (minus the Liverpool clash), and that considering the huge budget gap between the two clubs.
Arteta is giving that freshness that Guardiola is lacking, including more reliability on the back. Anyway, Manchester City are always able to click in big games, and especially when it looks like they can’t cope with all the issues. But their defense still needs to be briefed up, and Arsenal dynamic could particularly make the most of their weaknesses, or at least gifting us an entertaining game with goals.
Leeds vs. Wolverhampton
Monday, October 19, 2020 - 03:00 PM EDT at Elland Road
In some way this is an official underdog game. Wolves have been the intruder in the Premier league Big 6 with an intriguing project flagged by Portuguese and Jorge Mendes
Leeds are the dream of doing good basing, only on ideas on the pitch, on the bench, behind a desk. Nobody yet has been able to dome LUFC playing style. Nuno Espírito Santo lost from his team enthusiasm something Marcelo Bielsa is rich in every aspect. There is too much value on a home win so we will take that.
