Everton vs. Liverpool
Saturday, October 17, 2020 – 07:30 AM EDT at Goodison Park
The 288th Merseyside Derby is by far the most anticipated match of the round in the Premier League. Leaders Everton (yes, that’s correct) host reigning champs Liverpool. With maximum points earned in 4 games and 12 goals scored in the process, Everton’s form and confidence are at high levels. Unfortunately, the international break came in a very bad moment for Carlo Ancelotti and Co. but in case they win this clash they will definitely be called a title contender.
On the other side, Liverpool were very happy with the international break after suffering probably the worst defeat in their history, 7-2 to Aston Villa. If we take out this shocking result, Liverpool are by far the most consistent team in the English top-flight league and they celebrated 5 years under the magic of Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds will give their best to return to winning ways and beat leaders Everton on the road. But their away form is questionable as they 4 of their previous 8 Premier Leagues games on the road. They have to make a statement that the 7-2 defeat was just a bad day on the pitch.
Both teams have brilliant attacking firepower. Everton’s striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin already netted 6 goals in 4 EPL games, while his teammate James Rodriguez is enjoying a superb start to his Premier League season. He scored 3 goals offering 2 assists in 4 games being probably the best summer transfer in the Premier League.
On the other side, Liverpool have been handed a triple injury boost as Sadio Mane, Joël Matip and Thiago Alcântara returned to training on Tuesday following their injuries or coronavirus problems.
We should enjoy a high-scoring affair and easily cash our 1st parlay pick.
Chelsea vs. Southampton
Saturday, October 17, 2020 - 10:00 AM EDT at Stamford Bridge
The start of the Premier League 2020/21 season has been full of goals, great upsets, and some of the major teams struggling to get back to their best. One of the inconsistent top teams is Chelsea, a team that enjoyed a great transfer window which sets the foundation for success. The talent and quality are there but we can’t name them title contenders yet as they need more time to gel and turn into champions.
Frank Lampard and Co. returned to winning ways before the international break and enter this clash on the back of a 4-0 impressive win against Crystal Palace.
On the other side, Southampton kicked off their season with 2 consecutive defeats, but they bounced back winning 2 games in a row, keeping 2 clean sheets in the process. Danny Ings who scored 3 goals in 4 games is the player to watch on Saturday.
Chelsea have Christian Pulisic back while Hakim Ziyech played 31 minutes for Morocco during the international break so we might see him making his debut against Southampton. Chelsea hope to move back into the top four and we expect them to win at home against Southampton and score at least 2 goals on their own.
3rd Parlay Pick: Leicester vs. Aston Villa – Both teams to score at -188 (1.53)
3-Team Parlay at +244 (3.44)
