There are lots of exciting games to look forward to in England this weekend, and we provide a look at seven different matches with our Premier League Matchday 23 picks.

Manchester City's relentless march toward Premier League glory continued with a 1-0 win against Chelsea last weekend. That result moved Pep Guardiola’s men 13 points clear of the Blues, though Liverpool are still in with a faint chance after beating Brentford 3-0 to move second.

The race for a top-four place is enthralling, as is the relegation battle. Here are my top betting picks and predictions for the Premier League Matchday 23 schedule (odds via Unibet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Premier League Matchday 23 Picks

Premier League Matchday 23 Predictions

Aston Villa draw no bet vs. Everton (-110)

Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho came off the bench to rescue a draw for Aston Villa against Man United last weekend. It was a debut to remember for the Barcelona loanee, and he should start this match.

Villa have been very efficient in front of goal, scoring 6.11 more than their expected goals tally, and they could punish Everton.

The Toffees fired manager Rafa Benitez last weekend after losing to relegation-threatened Norwich. They have just one win in 13 games, are now rudderless, and should come unglued against a Villa team that's improving under the tutelage of manager Steven Gerrard.

Leeds vs. Newcastle - both teams to score and Over 2.5 goals (-118)

This has the makings of a goal-fest.

Leeds are coming off a pulsating 3-2 win over West Ham, which was their second consecutive victory. They're getting key players back from injury, which bolsters their attacking prowess. However, the gung-ho nature of their approach means they continue to leak goals. Meanwhile, Newcastle have the second-worst defensive record in the Premier League this season, but they've improved their attacking options by signing Chris Wood from Burnley for £25 million.

Both teams to score has paid off in 14 of Newcastle’s 20 games and in 14 of Leeds’ 20, while matches featuring either team have an average of 3.15 goals.

Arsenal -1.25 vs. Burnley (+100)

Burnley’s situation looks very bleak. They're winless in seven Premier League matches, and their last outing was a 2-1 defeat to Championship side Huddersfield in the FA Cup. They're bottom of the league, with just one win from 17 games so far.

The Clarets do have games in hand on the teams above them, but their survival prospects took a knock when Newcastle activated Wood’s release clause and took him to St James’ Park. Ashley Barnes is out with an injury, Matej Vydra has COVID-19, and Maxwel Cornet is at the Africa Cup of Nations, so they have no strikers.

A trip to the Emirates is unlikely to help matters. Arsenal are missing key players, too, due to injury, COVID-19, and the AFCON, but they should still be far too slick for Burnley.
