The Premier League returns after the FA Cup break. We’re treated to some blockbuster matches this weekend, including the Manchester and north London derbies. We offer up our Premier League best bets based on the top soccer odds for Matchday 20 below.

The in-form Manchester United host their neighbors Manchester City on Saturday while looking to avenge the 6-3 drubbing at the Etihad in October. However, City will be smarting over their midweek EFL Cup exit against lowly Southampton.

Then Tottenham hosts Arsenal on Sunday in the north London derby. The Gunners hold a five-point lead atop the table, but Spurs will need a win to stay within touching distance of the top four. 

Meanwhile at the bottom of the league, Everton host Southampton in a relegation clash. Defeat for the Saints could lead to them falling five points from safety by the end of the weekend.

Spread: Brentford -1 (+110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bournemouth have lost 18 of their last 23 away Premier League matches (W3 D2), which includes dropping the last four straight. They’ve only kept one clean sheet during that run, and the team travels to face a Brentford squad that's unbeaten in its last six league matches (W3, D3). 

The Cherries have conceded 29 goals during their nine away Premier League clashes this season, the joint most ever over a nine-match stretch. It’s an ominous sign as they face the team with the best shot-conversion rate of any Premier League side so far this season (16.3%). Since the league resumed after the World Cup, the Bees have scored on 25% of their shots in the competition (seven goals from 28 shots).

Brentford are riding high now, while Bournemouth are struggling. The Bees’ form is enough to cover in this bet. Two of their last three league wins have been against Manchester City and Liverpool. They’ll be too strong for the Cherries, which is why I’m sticking four stars on this play.

Most books are offering 0.5 goals. But DraftKings is featuring the line at 1, which boosts the juice for this pick.

Moneyline: Southampton (+230) ⭐⭐⭐

Southampton notched a huge win over Manchester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. Nathan Jones, their new manager, was emotional after the victory and quick to target his critics during a post-match news conference. 

Saints fans will be wondering where that performance has been all season, and it can be the catalyst in their bid for Premier League survival. Southampton have lost their last six Premier League games. They've never dropped seven consecutive league games in their history. Two of the club's three wins in the league season have come away from home. 

Meanwhile, Everton have lost their last three home Premier League games, doing so while conceding 17 goals across the team's last 10 matches. There’s an air of gloom around Goodison Park, with fans set to stage protests against the regime. That negativity could seep onto the pitch and impact the players. The Saints need this win, that Cup triumph will boost them, and now could be the right time to face the Toffees. 

The books are split on the odds. Caesars and PointsBet are offering Southampton at +220, but you can get value at DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM, where the odds are +230.

Total: Nottingham Forest-Leicester Under 2.5 goals (-116) ⭐⭐⭐

Only Wolves (11) have scored fewer goals than Forest (13) this season. Leicester are on a three-game losing streak, so they’ll want to shore up their defense heading into this local derby. Goals could be hard to come by on Saturday. 

Leicester have never scored a Premier League away goal against Nottingham Forest, with their three visits to the City Ground in the competition producing just three goals (two 1-0 defeats and a 0-0 draw). All four of Nottingham Forest's Premier League victories in 2022-23 have ended 1-0. 

The price for the Under varies with each bookmaker. BetMGM is offering the odds as low as -141, while the next best value to FanDuel’s -116 is -120 at DraftKings, so shop around. I can’t see where the goals will come from for either team. But because it’s a local derby, and both teams struggle defensively, I’m not confident enough to give this game four stars or more.

Prop: Marcus Rashford anytime scorer (+300) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Manchester United boast arguably the most in-form player in the league. During Tuesday’s League Cup win over Charlton Athletic, Rashford became the first United player since Wayne Rooney in 2010 to score in eight consecutive home games across all competitions. Ten Hag says he’s in unstoppable form. 

Rashford has scored in his last three Premier League appearances for Manchester United. He's looking to record a goal in four straight for the first time since January 2019.

City have conceded six goals over their last six matches in all competitions. Rashford is Manchester born and bred, so he’ll want his hot streak to continue against this team's top city rivals. He’s at Old Trafford, United have enjoyed the extra day of rest, and this is a good price for him to find the net. 

FanDuel is the only book with odds this high. PointsBet has priced him as low as +230 for this play. DraftKings isn't offering much higher odds at +240. Rashford is an in-form striker being offered at a great price. This could be a very lucrative play.
