Barcelona will take on Atletico Madrid in the biggest clash of the week, while Real Madrid’s game against Getafe also offers value.
Mallorca vs. Celta de Vigo
Tuesday, June 30, 2020 – 01:30 PM EDT
These teams are 18th and 17th respectively in the table, but Celta Vigo are now eight points clear of Mallorca after enjoying a remarkable upturn in form. It started with a battling 0-0 draw away at Valladolid, and they then thrashed Alaves 6-0. Celta Vigo followed it up with a 1-0 victory over high-flying Real Sociedad and then secured an eye-catching 2-2 draw with Barcelona last time out. Mallorca have taken just one point from five games since the restart of La Liga. They have conceded 11 goals in that time and scored just twice. It finished 2-2 when these teams met earlier this season, but Celta Vigo are on fire right now and they should get a result on Tuesday. Go for Celta Vigo draw no bet if you want extra protection, but an away win looks attractive.
Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid
Tuesday, June 30, 2020 – 04:00 PM EDT
Atletico Madrid have tightened their grip on third place in the table by embarking on a run of four straight victories. They have only conceded one goal in that time, which should please manager Diego Simeone immensely. Atletico will be keen to continue building momentum as they bid for a strong finish to the domestic season and then prepare for the Champions League quarter-finals. The wheels are starting to come off for this aging Barcelona side. They dropped points against Sevilla, then scraped a 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao and conceded a late equalizer to Celta Vigo last time out. That has left them two points behind title rivals Real Madrid, with just six games remaining. The fans are livid, and midfield lacks creativity and Lionel Messi has not scored in open play since the season resumed. Atletico have a poor record against Barcelona, but now is the perfect time to change that.
Real Betis vs. Villarreal
Wednesday, July 01, 2020 – 04:00 PM EDT
These teams are heading in opposite directions. Real Betis have lost three out of five games since the restart, and they remain 13th after suffering a 4-2 defeat to Levante at the weekend. Their defending has been abysmal and they look rudderless following the decision to fire their coach, Rubi. New man Alexis Trujillo has failed to galvanize the squad, and they look set for a poor end to the campaign. Villarreal are unbeaten since the restart. They picked up three consecutive 1-0 wins, beating Celta Vigo, Mallorca, and Granada, then drew 2-2 with Sevilla. Villarreal beat Valencia 2-0 on Sunday to leave them fifth in the table, just three points behind Sevilla. Forwards Paco Alcacer and Gerard Moreno are in superb form, and they boast a great deal of creativity. Villarrreal should win this game.
Real Madrid vs. Getafe
Thursday, July 02, 2020 – 04:00 PM EDT
Real Madrid have won all five games since the season resumed. That has seen them leapfrog Barcelona at the top of the table, and they opened up a two-point lead after beating Espanyol 1-0 at the weekend. Zinedine Zidane has great attacking talent at his disposal, and he has rotated his forwards well. He will also be pleased to see Los Blancos keep three clean sheets in their last four games, as their defense has not exactly been watertight in recent years. Getafe are also pretty solid at the back, but they lack cutting edge in attack. That has seen them draw four and lose one of their five games since the season resumed. They have only conceded four goals in that time, but they have also only managed to find the back of the net three times. Real Madrid should, therefore, clinch a narrow victory in this game. That’s why we’ll add them to our Soccer Picks.
