England and Senegal clash in a Round of 16 matchup at the 2022 World Cup on Sunday. Check out our top England-Senegal World Cup picks and predictions.

The Three Lions have scored nine goals in their three games, just three behind their highest total in a single edition of the tournament, which came in 2018.

Senegal last reached the knockout rounds of the World Cup 20 years ago, when they lost in the quarterfinals to Turkey. It was the only other time they advanced from the group stages of the tournament.

Can the reigning African Cup of Nations champions pull off an upset on Sunday?

Here are our picks for Sunday's World Cup match between England and Senegal (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel SportsBook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

England vs. Senegal ATS Pick

England -1.5 (+160) ★★★★★

England have never lost in seven previous World Cup matches against African opposition (four wins, three draws). Their only previous such game in the knockout stages came against Cameroon in the 1990 quarterfinals, which they won 3-2 after extra time.

African nations have lost eight of their nine World Cup knockout-round games against European sides. The only win was by Senegal when they beat Sweden 2-1 in the round of 16 in 2002. Senegal lost to European opposition in their opening match of this tournament, a 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, England have one of the deepest squads at this World Cup. Bukayo Saka was the hero in the opening match, scoring twice in the 6-2 win over Iran. On Tuesday, it was Marcus Rashford making the headlines for the Three Lions. This England side can and will hurt teams.

Rashford was England's top scorer in the group stages, netting three goals and averaging one every 36 minutes. He could be the first Manchester United player to score four goals at a major tournament for the Three Lions.

Shop around for value with this line. England are the clear favorites, with Caesars Sportsbook pricing them at +150 against the spread. DraftKings has the best value at +160.

England vs. Senegal O/U Pick

Over 2.5 (+132) ★★★★

Since beating France 1-0 in their first-ever World Cup match in 2002, Senegal have conceded at least once in each of their last 10 games in the competition. No team scored more goals than England (nine) during the group stage, and only Spain equaled that tally.

As they showed against Wales, England are very good at soaking up pressure and punishing teams on the counter. They have goal-scorers all over the pitch.

Senegal feature plenty of attacking talent, too, as each of their last 10 goals at the World Cup has been scored by a different player (including own goals). They have five different scorers at this tournament, which is the most they've had in a single World Cup.

England have multiple goals in them and the quality to put Senegal away. However, Senegal have the firepower to get a goal in this one, which is why we’re taking the Over.

The books are clearly expecting a tight match, which is why the lowest price is at +125. There is better value out there. PointsBet has the Over at +130, and FanDuel had it as high as +138 on Friday. That’s dipped to +132 on Saturday, but that's still the best value available.

England vs. Senegal Prop Pick

Kane anytime assist (+310) ★★★★

He might not have gotten on the scoresheet yet, but Harry Kane’s contributions to the team have been excellent. The Tottenham striker’s link-up play drives England’s attack. As one of the best strikers at this World Cup, England fans would like to see him up top more, but his contributions from deep have set the Three Lions up for goal-scoring opportunities.

Kane produced three assists in the group stage, the first England player since David Beckham in 2002 to provide that many at the World Cup. No Englishman has ever set up four in a single edition of a major tournament since 1966.

Kane is also two goals from equaling the all-time England scoring record and one contribution from tying the Three Lions’ assist record at a major tournament. He could very well enter the record books while in Qatar.
