Canada and Morocco put a bow on Group F action at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with the latter looking to move on to the next round. Here are our Canada-Morocco World Cup picks based on the top odds.

Canada were eliminated from the World Cup following their 4-1 defeat to Croatia on Sunday. They have now lost all five of their World Cup games in total, with only El Salvador (six) playing more games while losing on each occasion.

Morocco are on a roll, unbeaten in their last nine matches. Their impressive 2-0 win over Belgium in their previous Group F match was one of the surprising results of the tournament so far.

This will be Canada’s first match against an African nation since October 2016, when they lost 4-0 to Morocco in Marrakech. Can they cause an upset on Thursday?

Here are our picks for the World Cup match between Canada and Morocco (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and PointsBet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Canada vs. Morocco ML Pick

Morocco (+115) ★★★★★

Morocco are the form team, which makes these high odds appealing. They haven’t conceded a goal in this tournament. In fact, Morocco have kept a clean sheet in each of their last six games in all competitions, now going 622 minutes without conceding. Should they keep a clean sheet in this game, they will be the first African side not to give up a goal in their first three matches at a single World Cup.

All they need is a draw to qualify for the knockout stages, which might be why the odds are so high. Canada have impressed at this tournament. Despite sitting bottom of Group F with no points, they have attempted 30 shots across their two matches, which is 11 more than any other side in the group. The problem for them is that only five of those shots have been on target, which is the fewest in the group.

Les Rouges will need their shooting boots to break down this dogged Moroccan defense. Unfortunately for the Canadians, the gulf in quality and experience will show on Thursday.

Most books have Morocco at +110 to win, but DraftKings and PointsBet are offering the better value at +115.

Canada vs. Morocco O/U Pick

Under 2.5 (-130) ★★★★

Morocco are so tight at the back, it’s difficult to see goals in this match. They would be content with parking the bus on the goal line and taking the point that will secure their qualification. Teams can’t score against them, and the books know that.

The Africans have made 41 clearances as a team during this year’s World Cup, the most of any team in Group F. Central defender Romain Saiss has made 15 of those clearances himself, including 11 of their 21 in the victory against Belgium.

As well as scoring their only goal at this year’s World Cup, Alphonso Davies leads all Canadian players in total ball carry distance (473 meters) and chances created (five).

There’s been a lot of movement on the total 24 hours before kick-off, so shop carefully. Some books have the Under at -140, Caesars were down to -135, but PointsBet have the best value at -130.

Canada vs. Morocco Prop Pick

Morocco to score 2+ goals (+115) ★★★

Canada let in four goals against Croatia on Sunday, while Morocco put two past Belgium. Hakim Ziyech scored a brace against Canada the last time these teams met. He’s one of the favorites to find the net on Thursday.

The Canadians will not want to lose. They’re not afraid to attack, proven by the high number of chances they’ve created. Their issue is against the counter. The Moroccans soak up pressure well, as they did against Belgium, and will punish Les Rouges. The more Canada presses, the better opportunities for Morocco to punish them on the break.
