The first Bundesliga round following European fixtures must apply different considerations - actually, that applies to all top leagues. This means that big teams when traveling could play less fresh and sharp than supposed. Obviously, when it is about Bayern, that doesn't count at all. They play Bochum...Bayern sailing over Bochum, but watch out cause the bet of the week can be given by Leipzig - or better, by Koln.

Bayern Munich vs. Bochum

Saturday, September 18, 2021 - 09:30 AM EDT at Allianz Arena

Possibly being back to the league against Bochum and at home is the best way for Bayern to digest the trip to Barcelona. To be honest, though they didn't even look like struggling in Catalunya, which is what impressed us the most - about Bayern, and about Barça too. There are 15 goals scored in the last 4 games by the Bavarians, but only 3 in 4 matches. But if we consider only the last 3 games, it makes only 1 goal against, telling then that Nagelsmann clockwork is starting to go in place.

Bochum will have to struggle till the end to avoid relegation, and maybe won't be able to do so. Defeated in Koln, but even worse lost at home with no resources to Hertha, which is eventually supposed to be one of their competitors, but it was baffling the way Bochum was never looking competitive at all. With these premises, it's hard to see them going out trying to expose Bayern's weak defensive links. Hard also to find value in Bayern winning, the best way it's the combo Bayern to win and both teams to score no, or Bayern to win to nil.

FC Koln vs. RB Leipzig

Saturday, September 18, 2021 - 12:30 PM EDT at RheinEnergie Stadion

Brace for Tanc madness. Koln could be the right one. Leipzig had to deal with playing Guardiola in Manchester, and this adding up to all the issues they had so far, which saw them losing at Mainz and Wolfsburg, and being completely trashed by Bayern, which nobody expected them to defeat but at least a few months ago could play being at the same level.

But the madness of picking the odds on Koln not only goes with Leipzig weaknesses but especially with what Koln has shown so far: 2 wins out of 2 at home, only one minute short from beating Freiburg on their ground and gave a big scare to Bayern coming back from a 2 goals advantage before conceding a third, which is quite an achievement on the level of mental strength. Really, the bookmakers could have compiled wrong odds on this, and Koln are on that path of being that kind of reliable surprise as the likes of Stuttgart last season. Definitely, instead, Leipzig are so far the proper disappointment.

Hertha Berlin vs. Greuther Furth

Friday, September 17, 2021 - 02:30 PM EDT at Olympiastadion

It was surprising the way Hertha didn't look groggy. Something we weren't definitely accustomed to seeing anymore. They put their head up finally against Bochum, after losing the first three in a row, but having to face Wolfsburg and Bayern (and losing the first at Koln, which as we saw many underestimated).

Greuther tried to revive their transfer window in the last few days, but they needed a massive shock to change the reality, which obviously wasn't possible. No goals scored against Wolfsburg and Mainz, trashed by Stuttgart, only one point at home against the definitely not irresistible Arminia. The boost Hertha had from beating Bochum can ignite a virtuous circle.
