It’s the last round of Bundesliga, a bit duller than expected, as incredibly Eintracht fell out of the Champions League race with no chance to strike back. But the fight for relegation is still totally on and also the one for the last European spot, especially cause it is involving those teams that really care about it. Stuttgart vs. Arminia Bielefeld is the game crossing those interests, but we have good odds on FC Koln vs. Schalke and Union Berlin vs. RB Leipzig.
Stuttgart vs. Arminia Bielefeld
Saturday, May 22, 2021 – 09:30 AM EDT at Mercedes-Benz Arena
Stuttgart are sitting 9th in the standings, in the race for the Conference League spot that involves 4 teams and sees Union with 47 points, Gladbach with 46, and Stuttgart and Freiburg jointly with 45. Among those, Gladbach are possibly the least interested in qualifying, felt as huge downgrading after playing Round of 16 of the Champions League.
But for the others it's possibly the best achievement they could hope for, and also must be reminded that German teams are always honoring at their best the Europa League. Do not forget that Stuttgart have just been promoted, and have been promoted and relegated twice in the last 4 years, so imagine the achievement of entering Europe as newly promoted. It was 7 years ago the last time they played in the European competitions, so this is important.
But on the other side, there is Arminia Bielefeld that are fighting for their lives: last week, finally, for the first time in months they were out of relegation sports after a long run, and so the finish line is really just there. Stuttgart won the last two after 4 defeats in a row, but looking into it there is to stress that 5 out of 6 games the final score was with both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals. Arminia have been the real deal in the relegation fight, with only 1 defeat in the last 5 that allowed them to drag themselves out from the mud.
True, not many goals have been scored in their games, but don't forget the particular nature of this match, with no tomorrow. Also, all the games will be played at the same time, so what is happening at other grounds can affect the result as the game goes by, making it lean especially towards Arminia scoring, as their feat is much easier, considering that their destiny is in their hands, while Stuttgart have to hope at the same time in the failure of other two.

Union Berlin vs. RB Leipzig
Saturday, May 22, 2021 - 09:30 AM EDT at An Der Alten Foersterei
Odds on Union are incredibly high, and it's absolutely the chance to grab it. Union in 7th place are the ones that can dictate who will be in Conference League no matter the others, and this would absolutely incredible for the team that until last year never knew what Bundesliga was. It's not like Leipzig would throw away the game, but their lack of motivation and performance has been already enough clear in the last few weeks with no need to face someone so determined as Union are now.
And not only that, Union's composure must not be overlooked. They can make it super hard for their opponents to play on their ground in normal times too. Union have lost at home only once and it was back in September in the first round!
FC Koln vs. Schalke
Saturday, May 22, 2021 - 09:30 AM EDT at RheinEnergieStadion
The only defeat in the last four games has left Koln at second-from-the-bottom, but -1 from the playout spot and -2 from the 1st salvation spot. Would that be enough? Very hard, cause Werder must collapse again (which isn't impossible). But the only way they have to hope is not only to win but doing it from the very beginning to maintain pressure on the others since the very first minutes.
