Gladbach, Leverkusen and Dortmund ready to deliver this weekend in Germany.
Gladbach and Leverkusen are 2 of the most in-form teams in the German top-flight league. Last week they showed consistency, amazing team-work, great attacking firepower and most important eagerness of playing at a top-level and helping their team climb the standings.
Gladbach’s Alassane Plea, who’s on Man United’s list, scored withing 36 seconds of the 3-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt. He is one goal away from double digits this season after netting 9 goals and providing 8 assists in 29 games for his current club. He’s Gladbach’s player to watch together with his attacking teammates Marcus Thuram, the son of the former France international player Lilian Thuram, and Breel Embolo, one of the most talented youngsters in Bundesliga.
On the other side, Leverkusen are pure gold this year. If in the 1st half to their season they struggled to win back to back games, in 2020 they are on fire. They won 7 of their last 9 domestic league matches and they are just cruising right now. Despite having a long break due to the world-wide epidemic and not being able to train at the best parameters, last weekend they simply destroyed Werder Bremen, controlling the match from the first to the last whistle. Peter Bosz is expected to use the same starting line-up, with Kai Havertz expected to contribute on the scoreboard once again and with Leverkusen’s youngest ever Bundesliga debutant Florian Wirtz together with another brilliant youngster Moussa Diaby, to shine on the wings.
Free Soccer Pick: Over 2.5 goals at -200 (1.5)
The next 7 days are probably the most important days of the season for Dortmund. They are sitting 2nd in the standings, 4 points behind leaders Bayern Munich with 8 rounds to go ’till the end of the season. They play Wolfsburg this weekend followed by the clash against Bayern which might decide the title in case they won’t win the match. Unfortunately, they announced that Marco Reus is out for the remainder of the season and Axel Witsel is still injured. Emre Can is back fit and in contention to return to the starting line-up and Jadon Sancho is expected to start the match after being benched against Schalke in the Revierderby. Julian Brandt who was the Man of the Round last weekend is the player to watch and of course Erling Haalnd is the man with the goal for BVB.
Wolfsburg are unbeaten in their last seven matches, so this game won’t be a walk in the park for Dortmund. But Dortmund love playing against Wolfsburg winning 8 of their previous 9 head-to-head and keeping a clean sheet in their last 6 mutual encounters. This should be a high-scoring affair and we expect the host to contribute on the scoreboard, but Dortmund are the better side, they enter this match with great morale and they should return home with the 3 points.
