In the old 1992 movie 'Glengarry Glen Ross', an immortal line was born, "Coffee is for closers only." In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which teams should be sipping coffee to wrap up series the next couple days?

St. Louis Looks Ready, Anaheim a Definite Maybe Wednesday

It is a given based on record Minnesota is better than St. Louis, yet the Blues are up 3-0 in the series. Without a doubt St. Louis appears poised to win and with the NHL odds having them as a small underdog, I will gladly take them on the money line.

Anaheim is up 3-0 in the series, but each victory over Calgary has been by one goal. The odds have this matchup as a virtual Pick and that is how I view this game. In the Ducks, favor is 19-4 SU recent record over the Flames.

Pittsburgh and Nashville Appear Read to Advance on Thursday Night

The defending Stanley Cup champ Penguins have more playmakers and speed than Columbus and in the Blue Jackets only victory in the series, they still had to hold on to win 5-4 after building a 3-0 lead. In the past Pittsburgh has at times failed to put away teams in this exact spot, but I think they will close this one out in five games and are solid for NHL picks at -215.

Chicago is on a seven-game losing streak and is down 3-0 to Nashville. The Blackhawks have been a step slow and lacking confidence, while the Predators are playing to potential most hockey experts always believed was there. Heritage has Nashville as -135 favorites to sweep, have to agree.
