Our NHL consultant examines the updated series price prior to Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Join us in reading this short and concise betting preview article which culminates with a money line pick on who will capture hockey’s most prized possession.

Updated Stanley Cup Finals Prices
With the 2015 Stanley Cup Finals series tied at 2-2, for all intents and purposes we’re looking at a best of three series at this juncture. At the time of this writing, Bovada currently has Chicago as a -135 money line favorite, and Tampa Bay as a +115 underdog to win the Stanley Cup. When you consider the Lightning still maintains home ice advantage, these NHL betting odds seem very strange to say the least.

Think Like a Bookmaker
When things get a bit cloudy at times when it comes to handicapping a particular game or series, I revert to thinking like a bookmaker, and if a line looks too good to be true, the majority of occasions it is. Such is the case with this current series price. Ask yourself this, when looking at this particular line, and with all being considered, will the general public be more inclined to go with the money line underdog still possessing home ice advantage, or will they opt for the alternative? The sportbooks are begging you to take the underdog, and are throwing a very attractive price (+115) your way in hopes of doing so.

Final Analysis
The uncertainty of the Tampa Bay goaltending situation, coupled with the Blackhawks superior edge in terms of playoff experience, sways me to go with the Western Conference champions (Chicago) to win the 2015 Stanley Cup for one of my NHL picks.

NHL Pick: Play Chicago -135 on the money line prior to Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals to win the series.
