Our NHL professional shares his top picks on Saturday’s mammoth card. Join us in reading this compelling betting preview article that provides the edge you’ll need in order to make it a winning night.

Stars vs. Avalanche 9:05 PM ET
Dallas will be out to make a statement early on, and especially so against a Colorado club that’s pretty much owned them during the past couple of seasons. The Stars got off to an impressive start in their season opener during a 3-0 home win over Pittsburgh. Colorado wasn’t so fortunate in their season debut, losing 5-4 at home to Minnesota.

Any team (Stars) with a winning record, coming off a home shutout win, and is facing an opponent with a losing record during the first half of the year, resulted in that  team going 41-5 (89.1%) against the money line during the past five seasons. This is a betting system that’s hard to ignore, and one that I’ll utilize when making Saturday’s NHL picks.

NHL Picks: Play the Stars -105 on the money line at The Greek.

Calgary vs. Vancouver 10:05 PM ET
Vancouver is still smarting from being eliminated by Calgary during the first round of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Well they atoned for it a bit by defeating Calgary on the road in their season opener with a convincing 5-1 win. Ryan Miller was outstanding for the Canucks by stopping 43 of 44 Flames shots on goal. He’s slated to be back between the pipes tonight, and Vancouver will look for further revenge tonight in front of the home folks.

Play against any money line road underdog of +100 to +200 (Flames), coming off a home loss against a division foe, and is facing an opponent (Canucks) coming off a win versus a division adversary. By hypothetically playing against the road team in this exact situation, you would be 57-15 (79.2%) during the past five seasons. Saturday’s NHL betting odds shows this game to fall into that money line parameter.

NHL Picks: Play the Canucks -146 on the money line at Heritage.
