It’s a busy night on the ice on Tuesday with 12 games on the NHL betting card. Here’s a look at the three best games we’ve got circled.

Ottawa Senators vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Odds: Blue Jackets -130

The Columbus Blue Jackets had a rough four-game road trip as they lost three of the four games, giving up at least three goals in every contest. However, they are better than that – especially on defense – and that should show on Tuesday. This season, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has a .898 save percentage on the road with a 3.12 GAA. At home, those numbers drop to 2.35 and .923.

As for Ottawa, they’ve been a steady defensive team all season as they have allowed an average of 2.14 goals per game. I expect this game to be low-scoring and stay under the number.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at The Greek

Arizona Coyotes vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Odds: Lightning -170

The Arizona Coyotes have gone cold over the last four games as they’ve managed to win just one of them. The issue seems to be offense as they’ve totaled just six goals in those last four contests. They’ve also had trouble scoring on the road with just three goals in two away games. They might have trouble scoring on Tuesday in Tampa Bay, who has proven to be a strong defensive team at home. Although Ben Bishop has a GAA of 2.71 on the road, it’s actually a sparkling 1.61 at home this season. Tampa Bay has proven to be able to give him better protection at home. Take the under on the NHL odds board.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at 5Dimes

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Vancouver Canucks

Odds: Canucks -225

The Carolina Hurricanes are clearly the worst team in the NHL right now as they’ve failed to win a single game in seven tries. That includes a loss to the Buffalo Sabres. The Hurricanes haven’t even been close in recent contests as they’ve lost their last three by a combined score of 14-4.

The Canucks have been a hit or miss team as they are 5-3-0 on the season. However, they are 2-1-0 at home. Their losses have come in tougher situations as they’ve lost in Dallas and Colorado, and lost at home to a pretty good Tampa Bay team when the Canucks were on a back-to-back.

The other challenge for the Hurricanes here is that this is their final game of a five-game road trip that’s taken them around Canada. They’ll probably be a little worn down.

Laying the huge number isn’t advisable for your NHL picks but take the Canucks on the puck line. Four of the ‘Canes seven losses this season have been by more than a goal.

NHL Pick: Canucks -1.5 at Bodog
