Coming off a winning day for sports picks on Sunday, time to lace up the skates on Tuesday, surveying the sportbooks betting odds, with a delectable 10 choices to ponder and profit from.

In all, I have five NHL picks today, but Philadelphia seems a little too obvious as a large home favorite and I like St. Louis who has won nine of 11 on home ice over Tampa Bay. Instead, this hockey handicapper will go into greater detail on three other games and one will not be Montreal who attempts to start 10-0. Wow!

Colorado Ends Losing Skid in Florida
The Avalanche are on a three-game losing streak, the last two coming at home. Colorado goes on the road and has to be embarrassed, being Columbus' first victim in a 4-3 loss. Coach Patrick Roy has seen enough from his 2-4-1 club and team reports have him making line changes starting with this contest to shake his squad up. The most widely talked about is lifting Jack Skille from the fourth line to first line, to be a nice complementary player to Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog, who have combined for seven goals and six assists. This adds a two-way player who is as concerned about defense as scoring.

Having Tyson Barrie back from suspension also be could be a benefit, as the Avs lost all three contests he had to sit. Though the NHL odds are going against me at Heritagesports.eu with Florida money pouring in early, Colorado looks like a great value with the shakeup of players, going on the road for focus and 14-7 after a home loss. Toss in the Avalanche has won nine of past 12 at Florida (4-3-1) and I will gladly take the +145 money line.

Kings Stay Hot in Winnipeg
Los Angeles 0-3 start is considered a minor detail to the Kings players who have since won five in a row and playing their style. The Kings went from Stanley Cup champions to missing the playoffs last year and they made moves to strengthen the team, but stay true to their franchise values.

Los Angeles is as good as any NHL team in the middle of the ice and they have been known for puck possession for years. Defenseman Drew Doughty has no peer playing one end to the other from his position. L.A. is not going to have many three or more goal blowouts, but opposing teams will feel that way when goalie Jonathan Quick is on top of game like he is at the moment and his teammates are working the boards to wear down opposing teams.

Having allowed only five goals in the last five games, the way Los Angeles is playing, they can stand up to the league's No. 5 scoring offense in Winnipeg (5-2-1), who is 6-15 after scoring three goals or more in consecutive contests and 4-14 at home against opponents allowing 2.4 or fewer goals a contest the last three seasons.

Stars Shine against Anemic Anaheim
It happens every year to almost every team no matter the sport. Dallas was off a very successful road trip (4-0) and returned home with only a day between games and was flatted by Florida 6-2. With a couple days to get their bearings, the Stars opened as -150 home favorites and should resume playing like the team which has a 6-2 SU record.

Dallas knows grabbing a quick lead will be meaningful against Anaheim, who is 1-7 SU (1-5-2) and is the weakest scoring team in the NHL at less than a goal a game (0.75) and already has been shut-out five times. With the Stars s 26-12 playing only their second game in five days, they are your winner.
