The Ottawa Senators have won four straight games but Champion Handicapper Dana Lane explains why the Senators will look more like the team that lost four straight prior to their recent streak.

It got a little scary last night but my followers cashed again on the Sabres / Redwings 'under' as the Sabres got the OT winner, despite the fact that Dan Bylsma still doesn't see a need to start Jack Eichel in a three on three situations. Sorry, I'm not saving my star player so he can play with Evander Kane on the next shift. At that point, it didn't matter to us but to Sabres fans it has to be frustrating.

Ottawa Senators vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Tonight we fly over to the Air Canada Centre where the Toronto Maple Leafs are a -149 favorite at Heritage (www.  That's the best line available now.  It will be very important to do your shopping as some books offer a line over our -150 threshold.  There are times when we can take a chance but not when we're on an 11 of 18 runs.  I prefer to wait until we're on a 4-0 stretch before I start breaking my own rules.

The Ottawa Senators will be looking to avenge a 4-2 loss to the Leafs last Saturday, the kind of angle that bettors love to back except in this case.  The Leafs opened at -135 and were quickly bet up to -155 in some spots.

Ottawa is fresh off a 2-0 shutout of the Columbus Blue Jackets which is exactly the reason why I'm going against them here.  I can only guess that there is some deep measure of satisfaction with that victory.  Despite their two-game winning streak, this is a Senators team that has plummeted down the shots on goal category (25 th, 28.7) after started much of the year in the top 10. That's not usually that big of a deal if when you do have shots they are quality shots but that's not the case with the Senators who are 21 st (2.56) in goals per game.  I can't see any reason to back a team that won't give me many offensive chances against Toronto who I know I can count on every night to give me four to five goals.  Even if they don't get that goal total they're third in shots per game which mean they carry the play on most nights.

Against Columbus the Sens gave up 42 shots and had it not been for Mike Condon the Jackets would have buried them. Give up 42 against Toronto and you and I will be cashing another ticket.
