After a wild Saturday night with 13 games, things quiet down on Sunday with just three games. We’ve got all of them previewed for you below along with our daily NHL picks.
Los Angeles Kings vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
Odds: Kings -113
The Kings have hit the skids recently as they’ve dropped three of their last four and six of their last 10. They’re again having issues with road games – as they have all season long – as they’ve managed to lose 10 of 14 away games compared to winning 11 of 15 at home.
The Maple Leafs are on a bit of a roll right now as they entered Saturday having won seven of their last nine. Their offense is on a roll as they’ve scored three goals or more in eight of those games.
Look for this game to go over the number on our NHL odds, as the Leafs are scoring at a healthy rate and the Kings defense/goaltender is much worse on the road (2.93 GAA) than it is at home (1.56 GAA at home).

Calgary Flames vs. Chicago Blackhawks
Odds: Blackhawks -190
The Calgary Flames are cold as ice. They’ve lost four straight games. On Sunday, they’ll visit the Chicago Blackhawks, who are at the opposite end of the spectrum as they have won eight straight games entering into their Saturday night contest at Long Island. Given the state of affairs of both teams, it would be tough to bet against the Blackhawks.
The issue for the Flames has been goaltending as they’ve coughed up at least three goals in five straight games. That’s going to be a problem against the high-flying Blackhawks. Beyond that, this is the Flames final stop on a four-game road trip, so don’t be surprised if they’re a little bit out of gas. About the only case you can make for the Flames here is that Chicago is in a back-to-back situation. Other than that, the Blackhawks should roll.
The juice is a tad high for my liking, though, so I’ll look to the puck line. Take the Blackhawks with your NHL picks in this spot.

New York Rangers vs. Edmonton Oilers
Odds: Rangers -130
The Rangers are a road favorite in this spot, facing a pathetic Oilers team that has lost 14 of their laszt 15 games. It’s hard to realistically take a shot with the Oilers in any situation – even as a home dog – as they are simply the worst team in the NHL. This would be a good spot to bet against the Rangers as they’ll be in a back-to-back situation after playing in Vancouver on Saturday night, so fatigue could be a factor – especially since they’re an east coast team on the road in a different time zone.
The bottom line is the Oilers need to make some serious changes and until a head coach is fired or a major trade is made, there’s no sense in betting this team. Go with the Rangers.
