After a quiet Monday night with just three games on the schedule, the NHL ramps things up with 10 on Tuesday. We’ve looked through the NHL betting lines to find some value. Read on to see our picks below.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. New Jersey Devils

NHL Odds: Blackhawks -170

Goal scoring has proven to be a big challenge for the Devils of late as they are averaging just 2.33 goals per game this season. That’s even worse when you factor recent play as entering Monday, the Devils had averaged just 2.0 goals per game over their last 10.

Even though the Blackhawks are without goaltender Corey Crawford between the pipes, they’ve been solid defensively. They’ve allowed one goal or less five of the last six times that a backup goaltender has made a start. That being the case, look for the Blackhawks defense to dominate in this spot and for us to see an under in this one.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Montreal Canadiens

NHL Odds: Canadiens -125

The Montreal Canadiens are in a funk right now and they can’t seem to snap out of it. They lost 4-1 in Dallas on Saturday, which now makes it three straight losses and six in their last seven. They can’t seem to find the back of the net these days as they’ve scored just nine goals in those six losses, which is simply too little. Although this was one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference earlier this season, they’ve clearly lost their way.

On Tuesday, they’ll host the Vancouver Canucks, who are an excellent road team. Vancouver is 11-5-1 on the road, which is among the better away record in the league. They’ve lost back-to-back games themselves but they were in a tough spot in those affairs. They played Thursday, Saturday and Sunday all in three different cities, so fatigue was a factor. With Ryan Miller expected back in net on Tuesday, take a flier with the Canucks as a road dog facing a slumping Canadiens team.

Nashville Predators vs. Colorado Avalanche

NHL Odds: Predators -117

The Nashville Predators have lost two of three but before that, this had been one of the best teams in the NHL. I’m not too concerned about a bad three-game stretch as they should still be able to get things back on track – especially against an average Colorado Avalanche team. Before placing your NHL pick based on recent games alone, understand that the Avs are in a bigger funk that the Predators as they enter Tuesday’s affair on a three-game losing streak. They’ve also lost four of five. The issue for the Avs is the same: goaltending. They’ve allowed a whopping 14 goals in their last three games, which is awful. They figure to be at a huge disadvantage in this one as the Preds, with Pekka Rinne, have one of the best goaltending situations. As for the Avs, they’re in one of the worst. That being the case, go with the Predators here as a small road favorite on the NHL odds.
