Our NHL handicapping professional shares his three top totals picks on Saturday’s huge card. Join us in reading this compelling betting preview article to receive a substantial wagering edge.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Minnesota Wild 6:05 PM ET
Anaheim has inexplicably struggled to score goals so far in the early going. They’ve scored 1 goal or less in five of their first six games, and were shutout on two of those occasions. One player who hasn’t struggled thus far is goaltender Frederik Andersen. He’s gone 3-0 under the total in three starts, and has a superb 1.56 GAA, and .947 save percentage which also includes one relief appearance.

Minnesota has scored just 5 goals combined in their last three games. The Wild is averaging just 26.2 shots on goal so far, and that’s not conducive to scoring a lot of goals. Especially when facing goaltenders with a save percentage of .940 or better.

I like this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my NHL picks today will be indicative of that prediction.

NHL Pick: Play on the Ducks and Wild Under 5.0 (+112) at Sportsbetting

Arizona Coyotes vs. Ottawa Senators 7:05 PM ET
After starting the season 3-0 and allowing just a combined 2 goals during those wins, things have gone a bit sideways for Arizona of late. They’ve lost four in a row, and gave up 16 goals during that stretch. The Coyotes have done a pretty decent job of generating offense thus far by averaging 2.7 goals per game. Arizona is allowing opponents a less than stellar 32.1 shots on goal per contest.

The defensive play of the Ottawa Senators is a genuine concern for me when handicapping their games. They’re allowing 3.1 goals and 33.7 shots on net per game. On the flip side to that equation, they’ve also averaged 3.3 goals per game.

NHL Pick: Play on the Coyotes and Senators Over 5.5 (+113) at BetOnline

New York Islanders vs. St. Louis Blues 8:05 PM ET
The Islanders have gone over the total in four of their previous five games, and are averaging 4.2 goals per contest during that stretch.

The Blues had their streak of four consecutive games with exactly 4 goals scored halted in Montreal this past Wednesday. They were stymied by Montreal’s Carey Price who turned away all 37 shots on goal by St. Louis.

St. Louis has averaged 33.0 shots on goal per game so far, and is #1 in the NHL pertaining to that statistical category. The Islanders aren’t far behind, averaging a very good 32.3 shots on goal per contest. This has all the earmarks of a high scoring game. According to the NHL betting odds at BookMaker, they provide us with a very favorable price regarding this specific wager.

NHL Pick: Play on the Islanders and Blues Over 5.5 (+113) at Bookmaker
