While most of the sporting attention will be on March Madness, some dedicated hockey fans can still get their dose. 10 games on the card and we’ve got our usual NHL picks written up for you below.

San Jose Sharks vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
Odds:
Sharks -160
The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to be a horrendous defensive team as they’ve now allowed at least three goals in seven straight games. They’ve allowed a total of 31 goals in that span. As for the San Jose Sharks, they’ve allowed 11 goals in their last two games alone, which is why they enter tonight's contest as a NHL odds road favorite. Antti Niemi continues to swing from hot to cold, and right now he’s cooled off.

The reason I like the over here isn’t just because the defense on both sides is questionable. The Leafs are a fairly strong offensive team when playing at home as they’ve averaged 3.35 goals per game at the Air Canada Centre this season. That’s the second-best average at home this season. That being the case, I’ll look for a high-scoring affair here and go over.

NHL Pick: Over 5.5 at Bodog

St. Louis Blues vs. Winnipeg Jets
Odds:
Blues -120
The Blues are on a bit of a roll, so I’m going to stick with them and expect their momentum to continue. They’ve won five of their last six games and have been downright dominant of late. They’ve allowed just three goals in their last four games, posting shut outs in three of the contests as their defense and goaltending have been spectacular.

The Jets have won two straight but are not a consistent team. They are just 5-4-2 in their last 11 games but the one thing that seems consistent with them is that they don’t play great against teams with a winning record. They’ve lost nine of 13 against teams above .500 and are just 11-22 against winning teams this season. They don’t play well against the Blues either as they’ve dropped seven of eight overall and three of four at home in this series. Take the Blues with your  NHL picks.

NHL Pick: Blues -120 at The Greek

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Montreal Canadiens
Odds:
Canadiens -215
It’s a bit surprising to see the Canadiens playing at home with a total of 5.5. Usually, they are faced with smaller numbers. That being the case, I’m going to look for an under in this spot.

The Hurricanes have had a power outage in terms of goals scored. They have totaled just four goals in their last three games, which is quite light. Carey Price did give up three goals in his latest outing, which was a loss to Tampa Bay, but he has bounced back very well this season. The last six times that Price has allowed three goals or more, he’s allowed two goals or less the following game (10 goals in total).

Four of the last six meetings in this series have gone under as have each of the last three meetings in Montreal. Take the under here.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5  at Pinnacle
