St. Louis Blues vs. Minnesota Wild 8:05 PM ET
The Wild host the Blues tonight at the Excel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. According to NHL betting odds St. Louis is a -125 money line road favorite.
The Blues have hit a road block of late losing their last 3-games in a row, and were outscored in those contests by a cumulative 12-3. The offense of the Blues has been anemic over the past few weeks. They’ve scored 2-goals or less in each of their previous 6-games, and 9 of the last 11 overall.
Although the Minnesota Wild has clinched a playoff spot, they’ve an opportunity to pass the Los Angeles Kings for 6th overall in the Western Conference standings. The Wild will attempt to overcome their futility versus the Blues. They’ve lost 9 consecutive games in a row to this evening’s opponent, and the last of which was a 5-1 road defeat on March 27th. The good news is that Minnesota is a perfect 8-0 this season when playing with same season revenge resulting from a loss in which they allowed 5-goals or more. The other bit of positive news is that the Wild come off a 4-3 home win over Boston on Tuesday, and they’ve gone 10-1 at home this season following a home win.
Any money line underdog that’s playing with same season revenge stemming from 4 or more losses in a row to their current opponent over the last 2 seasons, and they’re coming off a home game in which both teams scored 3 or more goals, has gone 32-16 (66.7%) versus the money line during the last 5 seasons.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Vancouver Canucks 10:05 PM ET
The Canucks host the Avalanche tonight at the Rogers Centre in Vancouver with the opening face-off slated for 10:05 PM ET. According to NHL betting odds Colorado is a -125 money line road favorite.
It would be hard to imagine that Vancouver is going to respond with a strong effort this evening. They are in the middle of a prolonged home stand that’s seen them go just 1-3 thus far. Additionally, they were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs in a 3-0 loss to Anaheim on Monday night. Then yesterday they saw their general manager get fired, and their head coach is on thin ice with no pun intended.
The Colorado Avalanche enter tonight as a red-hot team having gone 7-1 in their last 8 versus the money line, and their only loss in that sequence came in overtime. Colorado still has a legitimate chance of winning the Central Division, and overtaking the Anaheim Ducks for 1st overall in the Western Conference. We catch a break with a bit of a cheap price on the favorite tonight due to a poor track record in recent years versus tonight’s opponent. You can throw that concern right out the window considering the disparity of the mental state pertaining to both of these teams.
Any road team which is -100 to -150 on the money line in the 2nd half of the season that’s coming off of 4 or more games in a row which have gone under the total, and they’re averaging 3.0 goals or more per game on the season, has gone 47-17 (73.4%) during the last 18 seasons.
