It’s back to business on Tuesday as the NHL returns after the All-Star Break. Teams are refreshed and rejuvenated, and are set to get back in action. 11 games are on the ice and while we’ve previewed the Tampa Bay-Carolina matchup in a separate article, we’ve have previews and NHL picks for three other games below.

Arizona Coyotes vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Odds: Flyers -125
The Flyers are a small home favorite on Tuesday but it makes sense to invest in them. They have won two of three entering the break and have won four of six at home. On the year, they are a decent home team (12-10) while the Coyotes are a horrible road team (7-15). Beyond that, the Coyotes have lost six straight entering Tuesday and haven’t really looked competitive in those games. They have given up at least three goals in each contest while coughing up an average of 4.2 per game.

It’s hard to find a good reason to take the Coyotes in this spot while all of the trends point towards a Philly win. Take the Flyers here.

NHL Pick: Flyers -125 at Bodog

Buffalo Sabres vs. Calgary Flames
Odds: Flames -275
The Sabres are a complete mess as they’ve lost 15 of 16, and enter Tuesday’s game on an 11-game losing streak, so keep this in mind when looking over the NHL odds. That’s about as ugly as it gets. They don’t figure to have much of a chance against a Calgary Flames team that’s won four of five and is in playoff contention.

While the juice is very high, we’re going to shift our focus to the total in this spot. The Flames will have goaltender Jonas Hiller back between the pipes in this one and that could lead to an over. He has an .867 save percentage this month, although he’s only made four starts due to injury. The Sabres have found themselves in some high-scoring games recently as each of their last three games have seen at least seven goals. They should be able to contribute to our over as the Flames 2.64 GAA is the third-worst among any team that’s in playoff position right now.

Look for both sides to chip in as we find a way to get at least six goals. Go over with your NHL picks.

NHL Pick: Over 5.5 at The Greek

Winnipeg Jets vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
Odds: Penguins -125
Seeing a total of five seems pretty low in this game considering the matchup. The Jets have been scoring goals in bunches recently as they’ve averaged 4.4 goals in their last seven. That should continue on Tuesday if Marc-Andre Fleury is in net for the Pens. He’s posted an .892 save percentage this month and the All-Star Game might not help his confidence that much after he gave up seven goals in one period.

When you factor in that the Pens are the seventh-highest scoring team in the NHL, we should see at least five goals in this contest. Take over with your NHL picks
