The Rangers are a small home favorite on the NHL betting lines in Sunday's rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Final. Find out what the expert NHL handicappers advise.

The Montreal Canadiens Can Win Because…
They play pretty well against Henrik Lundqvist. Everyone knows that the Rangers only go as King Henrik goes and in his career, he hasn’t done so well against Montreal. He’s just 13-12-2 against with a lofty 2.86 GAA and a .897 save percentage. That save percentage is his worst against any team in the Eastern Conference and second-worst against any opponent he’s ever faced.

The Rangers are scuffling these days as they’ve dropped seven of their last nine games. Lundqvist has been one of the main reasons as he’s allowed at least three goals in a game in six of his last 10 games. The Habs have already beat the Rangers once this season, earning a 3-1 victory in Montreal on October 25th. The two teams have gone in opposite directions since, so take the Habs with your NHL picks here.

The New York Rangers Can Win Because…
They’re going to be pretty rested for this game. Since the Rangers game in Buffalo was canceled on Friday night, that means that the Rangers will have been off since Wednesday night. They’ll fresh for this game while the Canadiens will be in a back-to-back situation. Montreal played in Boston on Saturday night and were home to St. Louis on Thursday night, so this will be their third game in four nights in their third different city.

The Canadiens are clearly the better of the two teams right now acording to

Outlook
The Rangers are a -125 favorite in this spot solely because of the scheduling for Montreal. The Rangers are not a good home team as they are just 3-5 at home and have dropped five of their last eight at Madison Square Garden. So really, you’re laying juice here anticipating here that the Habs will be fatigued.

However, I’ll still take a shot with Montreal. They’re the better team by a mile right now. They had won seven of eight entering Saturday night and they’ve already topped the Rangers once this season. Lundqvist doesn’t fare particularly well against the Habs, so why would you want to pay a higher price here? There doesn’t appear to be a significant edge with the Rangers. That being the case, I’ll take a flier on the Habs as a road dog.
