According to NHL betting odds the Rangers are a -145 money line home favorite and the posted total is 5.5. Since the beginning of the 2002-2003 year these two teams have split the 10-games played against each other.
Momentum from the Road Trip
The New York Rangers return home from a very successful 5-game road trip that saw them go 3-2. They concluded the trip with a resounding 7-1 win over Toronto on Saturday night. The Rangers need to bottle whatever they’re doing on the road, and open it up at home, because the going has been anything but smooth at Madison Square Garden this season. They were able to win their last 2 home games before embarking on their recent road trip. However, prior to those 2 wins, they had lost 7 of 8, and 10 of 12 at the Garden. The Rangers continue to get outstanding goaltending from their backup Cameron Talbot. The 26 year old rookie was between the pipes in the win over Toronto stopping 25 of 26 shots on goal. The win improved his record to 9-3 on the year with an outstanding 1.66 GAA and a terrific .938 save percentage.
Roller Coaster Ride for the Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets personify an inconsistent team. They haven’t won more than 3 in a row this season, and they’ve accomplished that twice. They’ve also endured a pair of 3-game, a 4-game, and a 5-game losing streak. They enter tonight having lost 3 of their last 4, which was preceded by a 3-game win streak. Are you dizzy yet because I certainly am? Besides I have a genuine dislike of roller coaster rides. At the end of the day Columbus is currently 6th in the Metropolitan Division, and 13th overall in the Eastern Conference. The good news is they’re just 6-points behind both Washington and Philadelphia for the final playoff position in the Eastern Conference, in addition to still having 40-games still left to play in the regular season. This will be the last of a 4-game in 7-day road trip for Columbus.
NHL Betting System
