No time to rest for the New York Rangers after an outstanding 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders yesterday night. Tonight, the Rangers travel south to face Alex Ovechkin and the pesky Washington Captials. New York has been unstoppable with Cam Talbot in net. Can they keep the momentum going? Find out as we present you with our betting pick.

Ice-time is  set for tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET at the Verizon Center in our nation's capital of Washington D.C. Currently, the NHL odds have the Caps as a -131 betting favorite and the total for the game is 5.5 goals. Fading the Rangers would be a tough task for me. I provided you with the Rangers over the Islanders as Rick Nash finally outplayed John Tavares and I hope that the public followed my pick, but now the Blueshirts must face Alex Ovechkin and that's a tall order indeed!

Starting Goalies
We don't have confirmation as of yet, but I can just about guarantee that Cam Talbot will be in net. Ever since Henrik Lundvist went down, Talbot has been the best goalie in the NHL as his 12-2-3 with a 2.35 GAA indicates. Look for Talbot to keep the run going. Washington will have to work extremely hard to get one past Talbot.

Braden Holtby has been outstanding between the pipes for the Caps with a  32-16-9 record and a 2.15 GAA.. He wasn't tested in Washington's last game, a 6-1 beating of the Buffalo Sabres, But Holtby has been a top goalie, especially at home where he carries a 1.97 GAA. This could have the making of another low scoring affair for the Rangers as the goalie play has been amazing.

The Test
Cam Talbot faced John Tavares and the Isles and passed with flying colors as he allowed just 1 goal. Tonight, he must face one of the best players in the game in Alex Ovechkin. Ovechkin has 44 goals on the season and 20 of those being power play goals. He's on pace for another 50 goal season.

In his last 3 games alone, Ovechkin has 5 goals and 2 assists on 22 shots on goal. It doesn't get any better than that. Even if Talbot's run ends tonight, it's still an amazing run, but if he can stop Ovechkin, I'm not so sure that the Rangers will be in a hurry to put Lundvist back in net. This is the ultimate showdown and although betting comes first, for the hockey fan, this is a pure delight as you have two players playing at a very high level. Find out who comes out on top tonight at 8 pm ET.

Even though we're focused on Ovechkin, center Niklas Backstrom doesn't have to take a back seat to anyone. For the season, Backstrom has 18 goals and 51 assists. He's one of the best set up men in the game. In the month of March, Backstrom has 5 assists in just 4 games. If Washington get's to Talbot, you will be hearing Backstrom's name.

Passed With Flying Colors
Finally, we get to Rick Nash (39 goals, 23 assists) who finally turned the tables on the Isles and slayed the beast with the game winning goal in the third period  to defeat the Islanders 2-1. Nash had played poorly against the Islanders in the previous meetings and he finally broke out as the leader of the Bleshirts and I expect him to come into this game with confidence as the Rangers need more offense, facing some really big names on the Caps.

I don't think that Talbot's run end's here. Look for New York with your NHL picks, who is full of momentum and confidence, to keep playing well and beat the Capitals on the road as they have a chance to pass the Islanders in the division.
