After getting shutout by the St. Louis Blues in their last game, Championship Handicapper Dana Lane, explains why the Wild will do their part tonight to push this game way over the 'total' tonight.

I suppose all good things have to come to an end as we dropped last night's selection for our first loss in seven games.  Tonight, is a new day, and we can't lose site of the fact that we are a healthy 10-4 in the month of February.

Tonight,  we roll into Xcel Energy Center where the Minnesota Wild are trying to rebound off of a stunning home shutout at the hands of the St. Louis Blues.  Make sure to shop for the best lines available at all SBR approved sportsbooks here.

We're not going to watch the Wild 1-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues and think that the leagues fourth most potent offense is all of a sudden not a good 'over' play.  This is a team that will be hungry to put goals up against the Dallas Stars who's invitation into the postseason is likely to be lost in the mail.

Let's talk about Stars team focus.  Head Coach Lindy Ruff's contract is up at the end of the year.  The likeliness of Ruff staying in Dallas can't be high considering General Manager, Jim Nill, will most likely want to pin this season's failure on Lindy to save his own skin in Lindy's contract year.   So thee question is, if management and the head coach are perhaps not as focused on their teams how can we expect the players to respond positively. This is a guess but I have to think that the vibe of the Stars is to get the season over with considering they are seven points behind the Calgary Flames for the last wild card spot.

So how does that Dallas Stars lack of focus pertain to wagering.  We've said it a million times, sloppiness leads to offense and a lack of focus leads to sloppiness.

The Stars are 1-2-1 against the Wild this season including a 4-0 shutout at the Xcel Energy Center.  This should provide enough motivation to get a couple goals out of the Stars and then we just have to sit back and watch the Wild do what they do offensively to cash our 11th February ticket.

The 'over' is 6-1-1 in their last eight meetings in Minnesota.
