The Minnesota Wild outshot the St. Louis Blues 52-26 with Jake Allen coming up big but champion handicapper Dana Lane explains why this is setting game two up for an ‘over’ as the best play of the entire NHL card tonight.

Despite the enormous amount of shots in game one, the final score provided just three goals, a trend that will change tonight.

The money movement in this one probably comes from the fact that this year's postseason hasn’t produced an ‘over’.  Of the eight games, five have gone ‘under’ with three ‘pushes’.  Naturally, bettors take that and start playing all the ‘unders’.  Of the four games tonight, three are seeing the majority of the money coming in on the ‘under’.  As we’ve said all season let's not get too caught up in what we just saw. Each game is a separate entity and coaches/players make adjustments.

In game one the Wild forced Blues Goaltender Jake Allen to make 51 saves lifting Mike Yeo’s team to a 2-1 victory and a 1-0 lead in the series.  The Wild out-chanced the Blues 21-9 despite the fact that St. Louis was happy protecting their lead.  The difference was that the Wild didn’t have second chance opportunities, thanks to Allen.

With Allen making an immense amount a saves you have to wonder if fatigue will be an issue for the Blues netminder.

The words anger and determination were coming out of the Wild locker room after their opening loss.  I’m betting those words will translate into more scoring tonight.
