Find out if Nashville Predators can regain control of their series after being shutout by relentless Anaheim Ducks in game three, and get ready to grab a valuable NHL pick for tonight.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Nashville Predators
Perhaps tonight will be the night when the home teams gets a victory as the road team trend has enabled the Nashville Predators to own a 2-1 series lead but the Ducks feel just a little more confident with their 3-0 shutout in game three. Read on and see what I've concluded from studying the NHL odds boards.

Does The First Goal Matter?
In no other series does the first goal matter more than in this one. The Anaheim Ducks have struggled offensively all season as they ranked 17th in the league in goals scored which was an actual improvement over where they were most of the season. Their inefficiency has continued into the postseason as the Ducks have only managed only seven goals through three games ranking them 13th of the 16th playoff teams.

The Ducks shooting percentage of 8% is below average which is curious because they average over 30 shots per game but they have never been a team that would crash the net hoping to create scoring chances so although their shots per game in acceptable they are much more of a perimeter offensive teams which creates a low shot percentage.

Anaheim need to take an early lead in order to suffocate opposing teams with their defense. They then use their special teams to beat opponents as they are the first ranked power play unit and on the penalty kill.

If the Ducks are to tie this series up they will have to beat Nashville two at Bridgestone which has been a difficult task. The Predators haven't loss back to back home games since the first week of February while ending their season on a 9-1-4 run at home.

Frederick Andersen
Some cause for concern for the Ducks came in the third period against Nashville after getting only three shots while allowing 13. The final score looks impressive but inside the game reveals that Nashville controlled the third period. Let's see if that bleeds over into game four.

Frederick Andersen will start in goal tonight for the Ducks and naturally bettors are rushing to the window to back the Ducks. Andersen was only tested in the third period in game three so lets not put too much into his shutout. Andersen still is not as fundamentally sound as I would prefer and I would say i still would question his ability to steal a game.

Much has been made of the Ducks defensively but Nashville has to garner some attention especially Roman Josi who was not a big offensive threat in the regular season but has three points in the first three games of the series. Josi and Shea Webber have made a terrific first pairing.

From a trend perspective the Predators have now won six of their last eight against the pacific Division.

The 'under' is on a 6-0-1 run in the last seven Nashville games against teams with a winning record.

We are going to choose the Predators as our NHL pick and place another bet on Nashville in the first period.
