The Red Wings have not been playing well of late, but they do come in off a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay Tuesday night, while the Maple Leafs are off their 9th loss on the year.

Detroit Red Wings (6-5-1, 6-6 PL, 4-7-2 OU) vs Toronto Maple Leafs (2-9-0-2, 5-7 PL, 5-7 OU)

When: 7:00 PM ET, Friday, November 6, 2015
Where: Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario
NHL Odds Line: Detroit -110 at 5Dimes
NHL Odds Total:  Over/ Under 5 at The Greek

Jimmy Howard Strong In Win Over The Lightning
Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard came into the game vs the Lightning struggling a bit as he has lost his last three starts and allowed 10 goals in those games. He came up big in the win over the Lightning as he allowed just one goal and stopped 30 shots in the game. Howard is now 3-3 with a 2.01 GAA on the year, while in his career vs the Maple Leafs he is 4-2-2 with a very solid 1.91 GAA.

The other hero in the game was Dylan Larkin, who scored the game winning goal six minutes into the third period. It was the second night in a row that he scored the game winning goal. Larkin is just a rookie and he is second on the team in points with nine and first in plus-minus with 10. Not bad for a rookie. The Red Wings as a team are 17h in scoring (2.5 gpg) and 15th in goals allowed (2.6 gpg).

Toronto Loses In Third Period To The Jets
The Toronto Maple Leafs have not been a good team this year, but they did enter their game vs Winnipeg on Wednesday night off their 2nd win of the year. They couldn’t get their third win as Winnipeg scored two goals in the 3rd period to grab the win. Toronto is now just 2-9 on the year and improvement to the team just don’t seem to be very close. They will be a bad team all year. The Maple Leafs are 28th in the league in scoring, putting up just two goals per game. Leading the team in scoring is Joffrey Lupul with five, while Dion Phaneuf leads them in points with eight. At the other end of the ice they are 27th in the league in goals allowed, giving up 3.2 gpg. Getting the start in goal for this one should be Jonathan Bernier, who is 0-7 with a 3.02 GAA on the year. He is also 4-3-2 with a 2.58 GAA in his career vs the Red Wings.

Detroit is:
6-2 in their last eight road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of less than .400
49-23 in their last 72 Friday games

Toronto is:
15-40 in their last 55 after scoring two goals or less in their previous game
14-37 in their last 51 vs. Eastern Conference

Final Analysis
The Red Wings are the play here vs the worst team in the league. Toronto just isn’t playing well this year and they are just 1-5 at home for the year. Detroit has not been great of late, but they may be turning the corner as they have won two in a row and they will be looking for some revenge after losing three of the five games between these teams last year. We side with Detroit with our NHL Picks as Toronto just won’t be able to hang in this one.
