Dallas Stars winger Jason Robertson had his 18-game point streak snapped Tuesday, but he still headlines our top shot prop picks from Thursday’s five-game slate.

While it’s an unusually light night in the NHL on Thursday, there are still a number of players in good spots who have caught my eye in the shot prop markets.

Here are our top NHL shot-prop picks for Thursday (odds via Barstool Sportsbook; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Top NHL Shot Prop Picks for Thursday

  • Jason Robertson Over 3.5 shots (-137 via Barstool) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Carter Verhaeghe Over 2.5 shots (-125 via Barstool) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Mark Scheifele Over 2.5 shots (+105 via Barstool) ⭐⭐⭐

NHL Shot Prop Predictions

Jason Robertson Over 3.5 shots (-137) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Robertson has cleared this 3.5 shot total in seven of the past eight games, and he also ranks fourth in the NHL in shots and fifth in shot attempts per 60 minutes. Add that the Ottawa Senators are allowing the fifth-most attempts per hour on the road, and Robertson is positioned for a bounce-back showing.

Robertson saw his impressive 18-game point streak halted during Tuesday’s 4-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he still recorded four shots in defeat.

Barstool is the place to bet on Robertson to go Over 3.5 shots. The odds via FanDuel Sportsbook (-148), DraftKings Sportsbook (-150), and Caesars (-152) are notably lower.

Carter Verhaeghe Over 2.5 shots (-125) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Florida Panthers return to FLA Live Arena following a five-game road trip, while the Detroit Red Wings are ripe for a letdown showing after topping the Tampa Bay Lightning on the road Tuesday.

Verhaeghe has been a far more aggressive shooter this season, with his 11.06 shots and 18.6 attempts per 60 minutes considerably higher than the 8.0 and 14.95 marks he posted last year. Additionally, he's registered 16 shots and 23 attempts across his past three games.

It’s actually a little surprising sportsbooks aren’t testing a 3.5 shot total yet.

Barstool is offering the best odds for Verhaeghe's shot prop by a notable margin Thursday, followed by FanDuel (-144), DraftKings (-145) and Caesars (-146).

Mark Scheifele Over 2.5 shots (+105) ⭐⭐⭐

The plus-money odds available through Barstool for Scheifele to go Over 2.5 shots are a main draw for this bet. For comparison, he’s trading as low as -130 via DraftKings.

The St. Louis Blues check out as a favorable matchup, too. They have the sixth-lowest Corsi For percentage at five-on-five when adjusted for score and venue and are also allowing the eighth-most shots per 60 minutes.

Scheifele has cleared this 2.5 total in 10 of his past 13 contests, and I’m also encouraged by his play while centering wingers Blake Wheelers and Cole Perfetti the past five games. The trio has driven five-on-five possession with a 58.97 Corsi For percentage and posted a 60.48 expected goals for percentage.
