Six games on the NHL board tonight, and we’ve gone a bit under the radar when isolating the most dangerous money line underdog of the bunch. Join us in this NHL piece and find out our NHL picks.

Pacific Division Encounter on Sunday at Rexall Place
The Edmonton Oilers will host the Dallas Stars today with the opening faceoff coming at 6:05 PM ET. According to the NHL betting odds at 5Dimes, Dallas is a -140 money line favorite. Since the start of last season, the Stars have gone a perfect 4-0 against the Oilers, and that includes a 3-2 home win on November 25th.

Why I like the Pathetic Underdog
I can put together a list of trends on the Edmonton Oilers which exhibits their recent futility, and it would make reading a lifelong felon’s criminal record transcript resemble the length of an obituary. Let’s face it, I would be conceding all my credibility if I were to attempt stretching the truth on any positives regarding the Oilers right now. The way I’m going to approach this matter is by displaying the flaws and vulnerabilities of their opponent (Dallas) in today’s game.

The Dallas Stars have been one of the huge disappointments of the NHL Western Conference at this point of the season. They made the playoffs a year ago, and have a plethora of truly talented offensive players. Unfortunately, that all looks good on paper, but the reality of the matter is they’ve gone just 13-18 so far against the money line. On the bright side for the Stars, they enter tonight having won three in a row. Before I begin to sound contradictory, let me put that 3-game win streak in proper perspective. Dallas has gone a dismal 0-6 the past two seasons following a 3-game winning streak, and lost those games by an average of 1.7 goals per contest. The Stars have also been a horrible defensive team this season by allowing 3.4 goals per game which has negated their respectable offensive numbers. My personal adage in sports betting, “if it looks too good to be true then buyer beware”, certainly holds prophetic pertaining to this matchup.

NHL Money Line Betting System
The Edmonton Oilers will be playing just their 2nd game in 5-days. The Oilers lost their previous two games versus Pacific Division rivals Arizona and San Jose. This sets up an exceptionally strong situation for tonight’s game that favors the underdog, and as difficult as it may seem, I’m going to trust the process which has been consistent for me when making my NHL picks.

Any money line underdog that’s playing just their 2nd game in the last 5-days, and they lost each of their previous two games, and those contests came against division opponents, has seen the underdog go 28-12 (70%) during the past three seasons.
