The Nashville Predators continue their three-game west coast road trip on Thursday when they visit the Arizona Coyotes. So far, the Predators started things off with a win in Colorado. Now they’re a favorite on the NHL betting lines in Arizona facing a Coyotes team that is just crumbling these days.

The Nashville Predators Can Win Because…
The Coyotes are a mess right now. Arizona's NHL odds are shameful and they had dropped three straight and eight of 10 heading into Thursday’s games. If they’re trying to get their head coach fired, they’re doing a good job. The issues have been at both ends of the ice as Mike Smith and Devan Dubnyk have not been getting the job done in net while the offense has been only sparsely contributing. Smith has been horrendous this month as he’s given up 10 goals in less than four games. He has a .873 save percentage so far. As for the offense, the Coyotes are 26th in goals scored at 2.29

The Coyotes have lost seven straight at home, which is absolutely pathetic. Fans aren’t even showing up to games to watch their team get hammered, so basically this team has no home-ice advantage whatsoever. Meanwhile, the Predators have been one of the better teams in the Western Conference all season long. They’ve won six of eight and figure to have some huge advantages all over the ice in this one. They’ve already topped Arizona once this season and should do it again. Take them with your NHL picks.

The Arizona Coyotes Can Win Because…
…is there a good reason? They can’t seem to figure out anything these days as they’re getting blown off the map in their contests. Aside from beating the Edmonton Oilers – one of the few teams in the league that’s worse than them – and the San Jose Sharks, this team has no other wins in their last 10 games. They started the year 6-6-1 but have only won four of their next 15 games. The Coyotes aren’t even losing close games anymore, which shows a lack of competitiveness. They’ve lost their last four games by at least three goals each time.

If there is a reason to take a shot with Arizona, it’s simply because the Preds aren’t great on the road. On the year, they’ve won seven of 13 away games. They lost in Carolina last week, so that shows just how vulnerable they can be when they’re away from home. If you’re betting Arizona, that’s about all your banking on in this one.

The Coyotes are struggling big time and the Predators are playing pretty well. Arizona has been one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL over the last month and they are one of the lowest scoring in terms of offense. When you combine that with the fact that the Predators are playing pretty well these days and are a decent 7-5-1 on the road, they make sense as the play in this spot. Take them with your NHL picks.
