Our NHL handicapping professional shares his two best totals picks on Saturday’s large card. Join us in reading his compelling reasons why he’s opted for both of these picks.

St. Louis Blues vs. Nashville Predators 8:05 PM ET
St. Louis enters Saturday’s game having gone over the total just once in their last seven games. Jake Allen is expected to be in goal tonight for the Blues. Allen has been superb in his last four appearances which includes three starts, compiling a sparkling .948 save percentage in those outings.

Barring something unforeseen, it will be Pekka Rinne between the pipes for Nashville. Rinne has an excellent .942 save percentage in ten starts at home this season. I really like this game to be a low scoring affair, and one of my NHL picks today will be indicative of that exact sentiment. My professional intuition is further solidified by an applicable betting system that I’ve illustrated below.

NHL Totals Betting Angle and Pick
Both of these teams come in with winning records against the money line this season, St. Louis is 9-4, and Nashville comes in at 8-4. The Blues are coming off a 6-5 road win over division rival Chicago in their previous game.

Any road team (St. Louis) with a total of 5.0 or less, playing in the first half of the season, coming off a division road win, and possesses a winning record, versus an opponent (Nashville) with a winning record, resulted in those games going 31-9 (77.5%) under the total since 1996.

NHL Pick: Play on Under the total of 5.0 (+116) at SportsBetting

Anaheim Ducks vs. San Jose Sharks 10:35 PM ET
San Jose has gone over the total in each of their last four games. There were a combined 7 goals or more scored during all of those contests. Martin Jones is expected to be in goal this evening for the Sharks. After a hot start, Jones has cooled off a bit recently. He’s posted a less than average .895 save percentage during his last four starts.

Anaheim has inexplicably struggled to score goals during the early part of this 2015-2016 NHL campaign. However, they’ve shown signs of life in that regard during their previous two games. The Ducks have scored a combined 7 goals during those outings, and tallied 3 or more in each of those contests. They’ll be getting an additional boost tonight with the return of center Ryan Getzlaf to the lineup. The Ducks leading scorer from a season ago missed some time recently while recovering from an appendectomy.

NHL Totals Betting Angle and Pick
Any home team (Sharks) with a total of 5.0 or less, coming off three or more games in a row that went over the total, and they’re averaging 2.9 or more goals per game, versus an opponent (Ducks) averaging 2.5 or less goal per game, resulted in those games going 51-24 (68%) over the total since 1996.
