DENVER, COLORADO - JUNE 24: Valeri Nichushkin #13 of the Colorado Avalanche celebrates with teammates after scoring a goal during the second period in Game Five of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Ball Arena on June 24, 2022 in Denver, Colorado. The Colorado Avalanche will get another chance to hoist Lord Stanley's mug when they visit Amalie Arena in Tampa for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. Read on for our Avalanche-Lightning same-game parlay picks.

Showing off the resiliency that's led them to back-to-back championships, the Lightning staved off elimination with a 3-2 victory in Game 5 on Friday night. Lightning forward Ondrej Palat scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 35 shots to secure the win.

Can Tampa survive another do-or-die game? Or will Colorado capture its first championship in more than two decades?

Here are my same-game parlay picks for Sunday night's Game 6 matchup between the Avalanche and Lightning (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

NHL Same Game Parlay Predictions

Avalanche (-120)

Despite coming out on the losing end, the Avalanche were the superior 5-on-5 team in Game 5. Colorado outshot the Lightning 37-29, and registered a 52.13 Corsi For percentage, 58.76 expected goals for percentage, and 58.14 scoring chances for percentage. Of course, this statistical superiority was rendered moot by Vasilevskiy, who played very much like the former Conn Smythe winner that he is.

While I can't dismiss another brick wall-esque performance from Vasilevskiy, if the Avalanche's vaunted offense continues to buzz, it's only a matter of time before they start lighting the lamp with more frequency. I'm expecting another tight game, but this time it'll end with Colorado parading around the ice with the Stanley Cup held aloft.

Under 6.5 (-150)

As I've touched on earlier, Vaislevskiy has been excellent between the pipes for the Lightning. Despite having his doors blown off 7-0 in Game 2, the 27-year-old Russian bounced back with a sterling .938 save percentage and 2.88 goals saved above average over his next three starts. Avs goaltender Darcy Kuemper has had his ups and downs thus far in the postseason, but his shortcomings have been masked by the spectacular lineup that surrounds him. That said, he's surrendered two or fewer goals twice in five games, including a shutout in Game 2.

The two teams combined for five goals in both Games 4 and 5, and I'm expecting more of the same in Game 6. With the Stanley Cup hanging in the balance, we'll likely get another 3-2-type affair, with the Avalanche emerging victorious.

MacKinnon anytime goalscorer (+140)

Although he's only lit the lamp once thus far in the Stanley Cup Final, Nathan MacKinnon has been absolutely assaulting Vasilevskiy with frozen rubber. MacKinnon is averaging 5.6 shots per game through five games and has topped five-plus shots four times. If he continues firing the puck at such an alarming rate, it's only a matter of time before he finds the back of the net.

I expect him to give Vasilevskiy a red-light tan on Sunday night.

Combined Odds: Avalanche (-120) + Under 6.5 (-150) + MacKinnon anytime goalscorer (+140) = +550
