The Predators will attempt to start a new winning streak after dropping a 4-3 decision to Calgary on Thursday, a loss that snapped a 7-game streak without a regulation loss. Tonight they’ attempt to start a new streak against the Detroit Redwings shut the Predators out, 1-0, two weeks ago. Puck drops from the Bridgestone Arena at 8:00 ET/5:00 PT in what will be the first of two meetings in four days.

For the Predators there will be some changes to their line-up and you know the minute I see the word change I start to think about the UNDER.

Let’s not forget that this is an old rivalry that goes back to when the Predators and Wings were both in the Central Division. The intensity level will be high with both teams putting in a focused effort to not allow the first score. That means there will be a lot of clogging the neutral zone and slot areas until one team breaks through. When a score finally does happen there will be enough time off the clock to give us a good head start on our UNDER wager.

There may be some line-up changes for the Predators as we’re still not clear on the status of Kyle Turris who didn’t play in the loss to the Flames but did fully participate in the morning skate. It may be just one playing but the effect on line combinations and a team’s overall depth directly affects a wager on the TOTAL.

Against Calgary you can tell that there are still aspects of the Predators game that they can improve and will have to improve to make another Stanley Cup run. After the loss, Head Coach Peter Laviolette spoke publicly.

"They all look the same - they're not good enough," Predators Head Coach Peter Laviolette said of Nashville's recent games. "We're not working hard enough. I don't know what else to say. If you don't invest a lot, you won't like it at the end. The stretches that aren't going our way, the stretches where we are getting outplayed - it's because we are missing some bite. We're missing some bite in our game."

From the Wings perspective, the rumor mill chatter has been loud. General Manager Ken Holland is definitely looking to make some moves causing Head Coach Jeff Blashill to feel the need to talk to some of the guys to make sure their head is still in the game. The Wings are only seven games away from the trade deadline and if Blashill is concerned about players stating focused that doesn’t entice me to look at an OVER wager especially against the league’s third-best defensive team.

Go out and jump on the easy UNDER and I’ll see you at the cashier's window after.
