It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would as the Bruins found their scoring touch once again in a building they haven’t fared well in. In the end my readers cashed another winner last night when the game slid UNDER the TOTAL of 5.5. We’ve been on an amazing run to end the year and with one day remaining, I’ve identified a plus money winner that’ll send us into 2018 with a fat bankroll.

Before I get to tonight’s winner I want to wish everyone a very happy New Year; 2018 is going to be fantastic. Going into the New Year I want to pass this along, remember no matter how much media wants to divide and conquer because chaos makes them money, there is only one division among us and that’s good and bad. Good people don’t care how you got to be good as long as you are. Be reliable, trustworthy, and live with integrity and watch the negativity fall by your side.

Let’s get back to pucks.

Let me give you an idea of how the mighty have fallen. The Penguins have won just one game in regulation, against Arizona, since December 2nd and that was against Buffalo. They haven’t beaten a quality opponent in regulation since a 5-2 victory over Tampa Bay on November 25th. That’s well over a month!

This may not be the ideal place for Pittsburgh to recharge their batteries. The Wings have won two straight over Pittsburgh and have outscored them 11-5. It’s the first two-game win streak the Wings have enjoyed over the Pens in 11 years.

Detroit, like Pittsburgh, sits outside the playoff picture with Pittsburgh being one of the teams they must climb over to get in. Mike Sullivan’s team has a six-point lead over Jeff Blashill’s squad which means that Detroit is in a must-win situation to draw close to the second wild-card spot. I like to play home teams in this situation because I think I can bet them at their emotional pique.

"We've got a big mountain to climb here, so we really have to be ready," Frans Nielsen said. "It's going to be a fun challenge playing against a team like that with so many good players."

According to the SBR odds page, both the public and the professionals are on the Penguins. The number opened Pittsburgh -125, quickly pushed up to -135 at some books. You can still find a reasonable price at 5Dimes where the number still sits at +125 but in our case we want that number to balloon as high as it can. I grabbed +120 earlier but those are gone now. The best NHL betting lines available are at BetOnline at +118.

All the best to you and your family as we end 2017 with a plus money winner.
