The slumping New York Rangers travel to Vegas to take on the Golden Knights on Wednesday. Read on for our Rangers-Golden Knights picks and predictions based on the latest odds.

Two teams with high expectations but subpar recent results face off Wednesday in Sin City.

The Rangers have won just six of their past 16 games since opening the season 6-3-2. Most recently, they battled to a 6-4 victory at home against St. Louis on Monday.

The Golden Knights have just one regulation win in the past six contests, but looked terrific in halting Boston’s 14-game home winning streak with a 4-3 shootout victory on Monday.

Here is our best Rangers vs. Golden Knights pick (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Rangers vs. Golden Knights Pick

New York Rangers ML (+130) ★★★★

Although the Rangers have been inconsistent recently, they still have solid underlying numbers. The Blueshirts rank 12th with 52.7% of five-on-five score-and-venue-adjusted expected goals. The Rangers have a 7-4-1 record on the road, and that .625 points percentage is ninth best in the NHL.

The Vegas Golden Knights have raced to first place in the Pacific Division with a 19-7-1 record. The Golden Knights rank sixth with 54.7% of five-on-five score-and-venue-adjusted expected goals.

On home ice, though, the Golden Knights have a pedestrian 7-5 record, which is not nearly as dominant as their 12-2-1 mark on the road.

The main reason to like the Rangers is that the Golden Knights could be missing some major contributors. Center Jack Eichel suffered a lower-body injury at Detroit on Saturday and top defenseman Alex Pietrangelo has not played since Nov. 26 due to personal reasons.

That leaves the Golden Knights somewhat vulnerable against New York, which at least makes the underdog Rangers the more appealing side on the moneyline.

The odds for the Rangers on the moneyline are consistent at +130 at most top sportsbooks, though FanDuel is offering the Rangers at +122. Certainly, if the status of Eichel or Pietrangelo changes and either return to the Vegas lineup, that would notably alter these odds.
