Top NHL Prop Picks for Friday

With 13 games on a jam-packed Thanksgiving slate Friday, there are plenty of opportunities to cash NHL prop picks.

For today's top prop bets, we're betting that Auston Matthews and Ryan Getzlaf will hit the scoresheet in different ways, while Chris Kreider takes his tour of offensive violence to Beantown.

Here are my top NHL prop picks for Friday's matchups (Odds via FanDuel, pick confidence based on 1-to-5-star scale).

Matthews to score a goal (+118)

Auston Matthews is throwing pucks at the net at an alarming rate, and he's bound to start hitting twine soon.

The Toronto Maple Leafs sniper has shown flashes of the superstar that won the Rocket Richard Trophy last season, but he hasn't reached the torrid pace that's made him one of the most terrifying goalscorers of the past half-decade.

He sits in third place in the league with 80 shots and has averaged 4.8 shots per game over his last five games. These shots are going to start finding the back of the net with more regularity, and when that happens, it’s going to be hard to get him at plus money in future NHL prop picks.

Getzlaf to record an assist (+100)

Ryan Getzlaf must've taken a few sips out of the Holy Grail during the offseason.

Riding shotgun with the Anaheim Ducks' emerging young stars, the 36-year-old centerman is in the midst of a bounceback season, playing at nearly a point-per-game pace with 19 points in 20 games. Eighteen of those points have come via assist, and he has 11 assists in his past 10 games.

Facing an Ottawa Senators team that sits in dead last in goals allowed per game (3.82), Getzlaf will have ample opportunity to hit the scoresheet Friday afternoon to nail our NHL prop pick, and it'll likely happen when he dishes a perfect pass onto an open teammate's stick.

Kreider to record 3 or more shots on goal (-102)

I can't stop betting on Chris Kreider's ability to infuriate goaltenders.

The New York Rangers winger has a habit of charging at opposing netminders with reckless abandon, and as such, puts a lot of pucks on net. In his past five games, Kreider has averaged 3.6 shots on goal, and in those five games his shot total only dipped below three once.

Although the Boston Bruins are an elite shot-suppressing team (allowing 28.3 shots per game), Kreider is the annoying straw that stirs the Rangers' drink. He'll get at least three shots on goal Friday afternoon and cash this NHL prop pick.
