Top NHL Prop Picks for Wednesday
The NHL charges into December with six games on Wednesday's docket, and plenty of potential prop picks opportunities to line your pocket with some sweet, sweet holiday cash.
For Wednesday's top NHL prop picks, we’re betting on Toronto Maple Leafs C Auston Matthews to extend his season-high goal streak to four games, while Detroit Red Wings W Lucas Raymond, and Colorado Avalanche D Cale Makar will continue to put points up on the board.
Here are my top NHL prop picks for Wednesday's matchups (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).
Top NHL Prop Picks
Auston Matthews Over 0.5 goals (+140) ???Lucas Raymond Over 0.5 points (-132) ???Cale Makar Over 0.5 points (-144) ???

NHL Prop Bets
Matthews to score (+140)
The reigning Rocket Richard trophy winner is starting to catch fire.
This isn’t the first time I’m betting that Matthews will find the back of the net, and it definitely won’t be the last. The Maple Leafs twine-assassin has scored goals in three consecutive games and now has 10 goals through 20 games this season. He’s also averaging 4.4 shots per game over his last five games. It won’t be surprising if he pelts Colorado Avalanche G Darcy Kuemper with a barrage of rubber on Wednesday night.
Matthews to score at plus money is always a smart bet to make with our NHL prop picks.
Raymond to record a point (-132)
The Red Wings have been a delightful surprise thus far this season, and Raymond is a gigantic part of that.
The rookie leads the winged wheel in scoring with 21 points through 23 games. He has four multi-point games and has been held off the scoresheet only nine times this season. His chances of adding to his point total improve when you consider who is expected to be between the pipes for the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday.
G Philip Grubauer has been a disappointment for the sea squid so far, having posted a 3.03 goals against average and .890 save percentage across 16 starts. Raymond's a safe bet to record a point with our NHL prop picks.
Makar to record a point (-144)
Makar should start preparing his mantle for a boatload of Norris Trophies.
Piloting the point of the league’s deadliest offense, Makar has 20 points through just 16 games, including an astonishing 12 points over his last sixoutings. Yes, you read that correctly, the dynamic defenseman is averaging two points per game over his last six games.
Although the Avalanche are facing a defensively stingy Maple Leafs team led by early Vezina Trophy candidate G Jack Campbell, it’s unlikely the Avalanche will be held off the scoreboard completely. As we’ve seen in recent games, Makar is one of the straws that stirs the Avs’ drink. Back him to record a point to complete our NHL prop picks.
