After winning 15 of 16, the Bruins have dropped two straight while the Flyers had won five straight but have since lost five of six. We’ll see which team can get back on track in an early meeting on Saturday as the Bruins are favored on the NHL odds.

The Philadelphia Flyers Can Win Because…
The Bruins have lost a little bit of their edge. They had won 12 straight and then 15 of 16, but it’s tough to maintain that level of play. Really, they don’t have a ton to play for. They’ve got 111 points with five games remaining. The way Pittsburgh is slumping these days, they have no shot of unseating the Bruins from the No. 1 spot. There has already been some rumors about the B’s resting some veterans like Zdeno Chara, which sends a message to the team: we’re waiting for the playoffs to begin. That could create just the opening the Flyers need to get the win and cash for your sports picks.

The Boston Bruins Can Win Because…
The Flyers offense has completely disappeared. For most of March, they were averaging more than four goals per game and leading the NHL in that category. For whatever reason, there has been a massive power outage for the Flyers as they’ve tallied just 10 goals in their last six games. As a matter of fact, they’ve been shut out in back-to-back contests.

The Bruins have lost two straight but we’re talking two nailbiters. Against Detroit, they held a 2-1 lead midway through the third period but let that one slip away, then they lost in overtime in Toronto the following night. They’re the better team right now.

Outlook & Pick
The Flyers definitely need this game more as they’re still jockeying for playoff positioning. However, Boston has been the better of the two teams recently.

I’ll go with the under here mostly because of the Flyers lack of offense. They have just 14 goals in their last six meetings with Boston.

Pick: Under 5.5 at Bodog
